Where the bloody hell have we been!! Tonite I saw a different outfit playing. I saw guts and determination! I saw players playing for each other and lending everyone a hand, i saw players sticking up for there mates, i saw 22 players show us that when we are switched on we are SWITCHED ON!! i saw rough and tumble outfit that wasn't scared of anything getting in there way. its the sorta [censored] i wanna see every bloody week!!

Agree, the thing that most stood out to me was that we ran 5 meters to put on a shepard not to try and recieve the ball.

A tad different wasnt it Noticed quite a few playing away form their normal field of endeavours. Must have been a dozen Robbo's, saw him all over the ground !!

I definitely think they played into our hands to a large degree. Once they were rattled it wa s bit llike cow-tipping !!

They like us were without a few of their guns.. and they went erratic. They lacked height. They werent able to match up well. Not sure if that was so much Riley or Rocket not having the ammunition.

I wont take anything away from a great win. We were hard at the ball, played in front where posible and as someone else has mentioned somewhere else played for each other. The spirit was back :-)

We arent there by a long way but it was good to see.. its good to WIN !! :-)

I am watching our special feed of the Demons game after getting back from Homebush (Saints V Swans) and watching live one of the most ridiculous games of footy I have seen for a while (although it was great being one of the Pink Ladies on the ground at the beginning of the game).

And I have to tell you watching the Dees is an absolute joy, and I truly didn't think I would be saying that again this year.

Well done boys hopefully this is a good indicator of what we mights be able to expect for next season !!!

I think we can bounce back strongly in 08, but only if we develop a more accountable style and get back to learning how to apply physical pressure on our opponents (our tackling tonight was better, but far from great).

I watched both games the Doggies and Swans played here in Canberra and the physical differences in the two sides was enormous, the dogs don't apply any physical pressure and their game plan has fallen apart like a chinese motorcycle. We were good tonight because our opponents let us be, last week were ... you get the picture. 08 needs to be based on how we want to play the game, not how our opponents let us play.

Isn't footy an easy game, we played last night a solid traditional game style. One on One, three talls up forward, kick long into the forward 50 and get our roving smaller players to the front of the contest. We had a lot less interchanges it looked like work your buts of and when you are tired come off.

This is attacking style is what our current team does best, note to new coach please encourage our attacking style, don't try to make us something we are not. The midfield was good with two of our top tier midfileders out, add Bruce and Mclean to what we saw last night, thinks are looking good, someone with a bit of speed would be nice as well.

It was a top game........and even though the dogs were very ordinary, we turned up to play.......the work rate and commitment was fantastic!

Just goes to show how so much of football is above the shoulders. If we turned up to play like that every week, we wouldn't be in the predicament we are now!

I think many people will be tempted to get a little caried away from last nights win. It was a WIN, there is no doubt, but against ??. Still you make your luck etc.

A few players that have been a little...umm...awol , this year returned for the event. Happy to have them back. it all goes to show how much attitude and application goes doesnt it . Some of our handpassing skills are still kindergarten. Som eof our foot passing ought to be named the "Victa" pass !!. The skills werent silky by any shake, but they were better. The thinking was better.. None of it brilliant. we can be brilliant. We still have a long way to go.

The best way I can sum up that game really is that whilst no fires were blazing its good to see live embers to feed the flames of 2008 !!

The match showed that if we have the cattle on the park, we will be competitive. We played with the intensity and passion that was present in 06. Those hard tackles, the niggling, the direct play, that's what got us where we were last year when we beat the Saints in that final. The team out there showed that if we have the cattle, throw in a new coach, and something to play for, we are a dangerous team and are capable of anything.

How much better do we look with Travis out there and fit. Whether he is weaving magic, or copping the #1 tag, he is important to us structurally, and the midfield functions better with him out there leading it. How much better did Robbo look after the rest? I havent seen Robbo covering so much ground and playing with such vigor since 2005. That game would be up there for him possession wise. And did you see the way he got on with it quickly? He knows what it's like as a forward, you want the ball to come in quickly so there's room to work with and opposition dont have a chance to flood back. As soon as he got it he moved it on quickly, and it worked a treat. Played a really good game.

Add back in Rivers, Bruce, Mclean, Whelan, Batram, Bate and a whole swagger of others, add a FIT Neitz who is hindered by a dodgy knee and a top draft pick like say Cotchin, and we will be top 8 team next season barring horrible injury like this year. Infact, I'll most likely be putting money on us for top 4, because our odds will be amazing value.

It's not all doom n gloom. 08 will be a good year for us. 150 celebrations. New coach. Clean slate. Exciting times!
