NON-MFC: Round 06

Hoping for blues win tonight as I think I'll be the only person tipping them in my comp. Most other games have clear favorites.

This is tough. I hate Collingwood and I mean hate but would love Carlton to continue losing. Of the other game who really cares any more. A win by the Fees would only increase my confusion over late week.

Thank goodness I'm working tonight so I'll miss most of the game.

But part of me hopes carlton wins. It's daicos's 100th. Will he take his dad out with him to run through the banner?

even if they lose they will give Naicos the 3 Brownlow votes, the 10 coaches votes and the copeland trophy

He's been so hard done by the Pies have changes the voting rules for him

Weitering is a huge in.

This is one of the rare times our resident ‘bagger @No. 31 can feel he’s in a safe space on Demonland during a Carlton match 😁

Go Carlton because it would be funny.

They'll need to be 10 goals up at half time

I hope there are 44 hammies done

nathan williamson special

Are you talking about the out of bounds call from Haynes that was smothered by Elliott?

How?

Why?

They are just becoming a Laughing stock.

Amazing the amount of 'stand' 50m penalties the umpires miss. Then they pick out an iffy one to make a point.

The mark/kick before the Kemp one handed mark: there were two pies 'standing' and a third a couple of meters away trying to act invisible. The ump decided to call play on after the Blues player went back then rolled around. Obvious 50 missed. Lucky they ended up goaling from it.

filth are starting to look like mfc 2024-25 era - they try and shut down the oppo to stop them scoring because they don't have the capacity to score themselves

makes for ugly footy

Ugly footy - agree

I don’t usually say anything good about the commentary.

However, they deserve a special mention for keeping a straight face.

Look like Carlton is all dressed up for another bigtime choke. Popcorn time!

A couple of bottom 6 teams playing

hard to watch

but kinda fun as well

Blues leading in the 4th quarter, unchartered territory for this season I think? We can definitely blow it, hoping we don't [still ditch Voss anyway though 😁].

It’s a ‘courageous fight to the death’ according to the commentators, because they are all too chicken to call it what it actually is - beyond dull, and the exact opposite of what the AFL want.

Start of 3rd quarter 2 blindingly obvious frees against Collingwood not paid and they get 2 goals

Almost fell sorry for Carlton

Time to switch off

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
