I was about to make fun of Sharp and Frittaโ€™s haircuts and then I remembered I started balding at 23 ๐Ÿ˜†.

Glad to see Petty is accepting his life as a proud bald man โœŠ

My son reckons we'd be 2 goals per game better if both Fritta and Culley got a haircut.

One thing I like to see is Latrelle and Fritta getting the ball up on the wing and kicking it to our forwards, that is where they are damaging. Combined with Kos and Chandler, their delivery is sublime

Another question Was that Jaydn hunt congratulating Fritta. In the rooms after the game. Only saw it once, not sure.

There were a heap of ex players there on the day including Hunt who was in the rooms.

Go look at his instagram story. Funny stuff..

Well i will be Honest

3KZ is Football went off air at 1/4 Time, yes i went and had a swim..Why not? That 1st Quarter was an embarrassment to the Club and our 2 Champions playing 250 Games.

Then i get a couple of text messages

We are in front..

What an incredible Steve Bradbury game!!

I will be watching the Replay very closely with a Bottle of Red

Good bye Carlton

You can only play the First Half

Dan Gorrange is classic today ๐Ÿฅ‚

Just do what I did, don't watch our first qtr, start watching half way through the second qtr, it's all Melbourne

Hewitt raised the ball to shoulder height with both hands. Even tho it was a split second that action made it 'prior opportunity' as he could have hand balled unimpeded while raising the ball as the tackle was about hip height.

Evans did a fend off type action first which is prior then ducked into the tackle.

Thatโ€™s a good defence of the Hewett free kick but IMO in real time, no benefit of replays or slow mo, that just wasnโ€™t holding the ball.

The Evans one I think was line ball so IMO wasnโ€™t egregious at all, but the Hewett one was a mistake and Iโ€™d have been livid if that had been against us, at that stage of the game.

They were all on the ground pre-game for a photo with Gawn and TMac and were there when they ran through the banner.

I saw Spargo and Weideman outside the ground and spotted Howe and Harmes on the ground, but havenโ€™t yet seen a photo of all of them together. Seemed a fair few though.

I haven't seen a replay or slow mo. The raising the ball by Hewitt was obvious to me. The main thing is the umpire saw it in real time.

If I recall correctly, Max invited the select retired MFC players present for his 250th.

All the sooks whining about the gameday thread ๐Ÿ™„
Agree 100% with your comment.

Up here in the bush on gameday I sit down by myself, tune into Kayo and open up the gameday thread.
Share a few thoughts with some fellow Demon supporters as there aint many around these parts.
And let's face it.
The 1st quarter was diabolical, the 2nd we stemmed the bleeding but still wondered if we we're gonna kick our 1st goal toward the end.
Little wonder a few got abit jumpy.
Who cares.
Invested supporters blowing off abit of steam.
What happens in the gameday thread stays in the gameday thread.
And reading the Carlton one, ours is tame.

I've had enough of it too, it's a low hanging fruit comment after a win to bag out anyone who was slightly negative in the gameday thread and gain popularity.

Jump off the high horse and onto the Max horse I say.

Yeah Fritta waiting for marks.
Had about 3 intercepted cause he waited for the ball.
And Salems early efforts .... Woah Nelly ๐Ÿคฌ

I'm not sure if anyone who makes comments like this has actually played footy... Maybe just a little bit of kick to kick in the back yard.

Fritta is amazing at reading the ball and is great at leading to the ball, particularly if it is kicked in to space he can LEAD IN TO. If he's running into space and has the ball kicked at him (not where he's going), he has literally moments to stop and wait for the ball. Pretty hard to run through the ball in these cases. Not sure he's able to stop, run back, then run forward at the ball all while the ball is in flight.

Langford is definitely carrying, or recovering from something.

Yep. Still performed quite well for being down. Good on the big fella. You could see he was pushing through whatever was going on, but my god did he look buggered.

Itโ€™s how I imagine Kahlani White is feeling with his glandular fever.

One of the most woeful first half we have played in years... far worse than last week.

But after half time we actually started to run and work as a team. While we really picked it up, How much of Carltons mental demons allowed us back in. Won't work on other teams.

whatever is wrong with our starts we need to fix it. Great tp see Langford look happier and getting into the game.

So happy we got the win for Max and TMac

PS... Weere we better when CJ went off? I think so.

We actually played better in the second qrt ..thatโ€™s when it started. Just couldnโ€™t put the score on the board. Looked lethargic first qrt .. possibly from the physically taxing game in Freo..Carlton full of beans off a 17 day break. It was purely skill based ..fumbling ..dropping marks..fluffing kicks & then they started to tidy that up. But agree โ€ฆcanโ€™t do that against the better teams..

Watching the replay I have to admit those 2 HTB free kicks in the last Q would not normally be given and we were lucky

In other words Id be furious if we had those paid against us.

Geez it was nice to get the rub of the green with a couple of dubious free kicks though dub.

We r normally the ones that get screwed over so it was nice for a change and must admit I had a laugh when they went our way.

Good call.

I'd add van Royen to that. Not quite as brilliant as those four, but a lovely kick to position. More importantly, him wrestling in the goalsquare just isn't working and I suspect never will.

Carlton are like Koutas attempted political career, miserable fail.

Haha..

I actually like Kouta. Absolute jet of a footballer who was unfortunately cruelled by injuries in his career.

On his day he was as good as anyone going around.

There were a few occasions yesterday where we kicked direct to the man in a static position rather than kick for them to lead towards. Easy for the opponents to spoil

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: โ€œIs Melbourne even at the ground?โ€ Moments later, as Carltonโ€™s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demonsโ€™ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.ย
