Hopefully you get enough notice if TMac is in. May not have had the impact of Max but has been a brilliant servant of the club for a long time and deserves the kudos for reaching 250.

Milestone matches on a Sunday are always gonna be tricky, and we have many Sunday matches this season. Usually we know the selections on Thursday while we’re making the banner but in round one for example we made the majority of it on the Thursday but had to come in again to finish it on the Saturday when we knew for sure Tmac wasn’t playing.

Ideally Max and Tmac would have separate games for their 250th. It’s such a monumental achievement.

I agree with this. Potentially takes the shine off each player's milestone.

But I can't see how T Mac doesn't play this week with Turner out.

Petty needs another tall defender to support him down back. As we saw last week, Petty wasn't able to back Max up in the ruck and therefore JVR had to be the second ruck which disturbed his game.

Plus Petty had a really rough game without a fellow key defender in the last 3 quarters. I don't consider Lever as a traditional key defender.

Really hope we can get the job done over Carlton. I’m so sick of losing to that club since the 2023 semi final (also funny how last year we played them their MC was still talking about that 2023 semi final win) Also a fact we haven’t played a home game against Carlton since that 23 semi final so 3 years without a home game against them. Carlton have had a the wood over us for a few years now and to make it more frustrating they’ve only beaten us by small margins. Hope all dees fans get down to the G on Sunday to show the boys supporter and more importantly show the love to Maxy on his 250th game and hoping TMac can play alongside him for his 250th as well. Hopefully dees will do something social at our next home game for them as this is an away game for us. Go Dees ❤️💙

It will depend on how the game flows. Last week in the 2nd and 4th quarters and the week before when we moved the ball in quickly we were able to score opportunistic goals from Sharp, both Picketts, Fritsch, Culley, Chandler and the midfielders. JVR was able to lead into space and Mihocek was able to out body one on one. When it came in slow or was crowded the opposite happened. Will be interesting to see which version we get next week.

I would interchange L.Pickett with Mathews after the Carlton matches. We need to get seniors matches into both players and by dropping one back to Casey it should improve their confidence. If both do well later in the year then we could play both of them in the seniors.

Getting dropped will not help confidence. Might help with competence. We certainly shouldn’t gift games but bad teams do that, so we may do that.

I am all for players developing in the VFL. Maybe Latrelle playing AFL gives space for Matthews to develop in the VFL. He has a couple years on him.

We just don’t know.

Nah, we'll win

McVee ain't playing

I see the club have put out 250 gawn merch & it would great if the kids standing on the side when max runs out are all wearing the 250 white t shirts

I throw in a 20 for anyone who can get a nice big banner up saying

Our ex players are better than your ex players

Nibbler, Baker, Bedford, Oliver, Hogan, Petracca, Grundy, Jordon, Jackson, McVee, Spargo, O.MC,

vs

De Koning, C Curnow, Kennedy, Silvagni, Chesser, Durdin, Owies, Dow, Fisher, Setterfield,

It is starting to look like a bonanza season for ex-Demons. Almost certain at least one will have a hand on the 2026 premiership cup. If I had to choose I'd go with Nibbler except... eww, Adelaide. Maybe good-guy Baker at these fancy new Bulldogs can snag one and keep the franchises out for one more season.

Hey guys I'm heading into this game with the kids, 5 and 7, as we are all GA. Members, the kids like sitting near the chear squad. Do we know where that is so we can get seats?much appreciated

McDonald will come in.

I think Moose should come in to give the tired Gawn a chop out. Sparrow is the one I'm looking at to replace. He hasn't had a kick since 2021. It shows just how bad we have become to allow a player to continually get games when he hasn't had a kick for 4 years. Moniz another week at VFL level for me isn't ready yet. Jiath deserves another chance or 2.

Latrelle was great against St.Kilda now people want him dropped must keep for mine along with Culley.

He was ok, not great. You do need to earn your spot. Talent and name is great but if you have little impact, should you be there.

Saad and Cerra likely to return this week for Carlton.

They're basically full strength apart from Motlop who's done his knee (arguably not even in their best 23).

I think @Ghostwriter posted the bay earlier in the thread. Sounded like the opposite side to usual

That’s right, Ditcha. Also, the cheer squad will be up the other end of the ground, Bay M33 in the Ponsford stand. Booo!

It’s an away game for us but a replacement home game so all home and away members will be able to scan in. Our cheer squad will be city end as Carlton will take punt road end. There’s usually GA bays around the cheer squad on level 1 but all GA spots get released on MCG website 24 hours before the game.

Bay M33 (Ponsford end). Enter via Gate 1 (I think).

Yeah it’s the away cheer squad bay (M33). The adjoining bays are GA. The more Dees fans in those bays the better.

Carlton have won their past 4 games against us by very small margins, but it's been due to their accuracy more so than being the comprehensively better side on the night.

Carlton - 44 goals 24 behinds.

Melbourne - 38 goals 45 behinds

I didn’t realise this was our cherished ‘membership replacement game’.

All the cost of going to the footy, but without that pesky reserved seat and premium amenities. But I’m happy to give up these things I pay an arm and a leg for - so 1200 Crows supporters can go see the Demons play in Alice Springs.

It’s such a good deal.

we don't know what he has been told to do and whether or not he is fulfilling his assignment. It's easy to say he's not getting possessions but we are long past the Ron Barassi/Gerard Healy "show me possessions".

What have Sparrow's opponents been doing?

Your very generous. But Sparrow needs to get the ball and impact the game . He doesn't. I'm surprised he wasn't delisted. Goody gifted him many games. I hope King is different.

Likewise - delist at the end of year

Might play Casey finals

Whilst I get the romance of having two weeks with 250 game banners, imagine if we have a banner with 500 games, 8 AAs, 2 premierships and a post GF siren goal + small solo fist bump going up [just loved that]. Epic!

Bit of a risk for them off an 18 day break if they play too many guys who haven't had a run for even longer
