OR ... maybe her beep test was how many F bombs she could drop during the session. Maybe she gave Gordon Ramsey and Brian Blessed a run for their money.

The beeps would be literally off the charts. ๐Ÿ˜…

Speaking of F-bombs, itโ€™s not often youโ€™ll hear Kingy drop one in front of spectators but apparently he was so pleased with the results of the beep tests that he was overheard saying โ€œ[censored] yeah!โ€

And can anyone (you included, Ghosty) remind me what a beep test is. It's still similar to running 100 x 100m's , but adjusted times to run each and to recover? So what is it now? Run each in 11.5secs and then recover 10 secs (those are completely made up guesses). What exactly?

Usually 20m runs iirc, been a few decades since I did one

Google agrees with you re 20m runs. Obviously someone who just about spends a whole game within 65m of their goal will need different speed vs stamina results than someone like Langdon. But happy to believe King swearing gleefully as Ghosty said is a promising sign.

BTW does anyone remember Billy Hartung? He holds the beep test record. But even then he was drafted #24 and lasted about 6 years in the AFL. Obviously the beep test is just one indicator of ability.

Thanks to all track watchers.

Wouldn't mind some insight into how we exit the goal square. For a long time it has been 'kick it to Max' (or the ruckman) with some variation last year. Very predicable to and defend by op.

When I was fit Ghosty (Phys Ed Teaching days) I got a Beep 15) Now the only beep I can do is sounding the Car Horn!!

I haven't seen any set plays after a point as yet.

In the sims out of the backline, it is the usual pass it round and spread, till an opening is there. Most of the time the balls goes close to the boundary and 50 arc, from there they seem to be looking to bring it into a central corridor.

The only thing I noticed in the sim ( that I watched ) it looked offerings were given both sides... kicker must have some sort of criteria upon which to decide.

If this is the case then this is harder to defend. Be novel for us eh... no more Roost it down the left ( they'll never suspect... )

Have never seen Tom Matthews touch the footy live, but there is something about this small footballer that reminds me of Nick Watson.

I just have this feeling we have another good footballer in the pipeline.

If you look at his legs in the training pics, they are tree trunks for an 18 year old, look at lachie neales legs. Could be a good pick by JT

Many thanks Kev.

I particularly like the bolded part!

Good to hear Metha mentioned.
When match sims are conducted where is Lindsay being positioned?

Re Mentha - is he and Cousin KoZie in a fight for the same role?

I hope not as I cannot see him replacing Kossie anytime this century.

I did notice on Wednesdays short match sim the exit from full backline often involved Ric Lever and he invariably kicked to the right, the AAMI side (west side) which was crowded, ignoring the fat side loose players where I was watching from. I would have thought that was the option where you can move the ball quickly and open up the defence. The few times I have watched our sims this preseason I have noted our reluctance to do the big switch, itโ€™s more working just one half of the ground from boundary line and into the middle corridor and still a lot of long kicking forward to contests. It will be interesting to see how this goes in the first practice match.

Anyone know if training is in at Gosch tmrw?

Want to take my daughter but havenโ€™t seen anything.. @Ghostwriter ?

I sure hope he doesn't get kickout duties on match day...

Maybe I didn't put my query clearly.

I meant are Koszze's cousin (ie Latrelle) and Mentha vying for the same position?

I never even thought that Mentha would replace Kozzie

Could the 'related videos' end to that clip be the basis of nicknames?

I got a video of a man 'asleep' with his mouth open while his pet chicken picked his teeth clean.

Classic Demonland quote ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

This has been said by some poster of virtually every player recruited in the last 30 years.

Jack Fitzpatrick, Jay KH, Michael Newton, Sam Blease, Mathew Warnock

"Ah I've just got a feeling he'll be something special"

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
