Yeah but JVR Has been veeery modest in his 50 odd games other than a few excellent games has done very little!

Youโ€™re an enigma PF. JVR has shown way more than Jeffo, but somehow you defend him and make claims like this which are ludicrous. Make it make sense

Ouch. Thats not great. Jeffo needs to step up this year. Out of contract at year end so hoping he gets back on the park and can show that he deserves a future.

I think I may have developed a really personal vendetta against whoever invented foot stress injuries.

An awful injury that seems to always find awful timing.

Agree - foot injuries really are our achilles heel.

Know how you feel Picket.

Terrible bad luck for the kid in the year he was needing to show something.

Hopefully he can get back in the side mid year and play some good football.

concussion - definitely; knee - potentially

Hopefully itโ€™s a simple one. The landing didnโ€™t look good, and with being no expert, it also didnโ€™t look bad. Itโ€™s not like some quite obvious MCL/ACL/PCL. It just looked like he collapsed due to his concussion (in my humble and unqualified opinion)

Unfortunately it sounds grim.. hope its nothing serious.

Any update on kentfield?

So disappointing for him. Real chance to play Rd1. Now we go with Mihocek, JVR, and Heath surely?

Bugger :(

Our tall stocks have been hit hard lately

Kentfield - possible ACL

Jefferson - out for several months

May - indefinite,(career could be done)

Johnson - Hamstring

White - Glandular fever

Surely we need to look at SSP before Monday and look at adding someone like Ah-Mu ?

Shame Derkson got snapped up by the Blues

Derkson more of a defender I believe.

But if Kentfueld is indeed out, KPF stocks looking very thin.

ย

Bloody hell heโ€™s the one Iโ€™m most excited about getting a good run at it. Fingers crossed.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
