Lot's of people treat us with contempt.

They clearly have no idea of what we've got in our list talent wise.

Don’t really know why, we aren’t the filth or Carlton.

We are the silver spoon club, I guess it's because of that.

Or not. What's that saying about purses and sow's ears?

Or maybe they do. Our backline of doom is a thing of the past, with our AA fullback told to look elsewhere, his lieutenant struggling to get on the field, plus we've lost one of their key sidekicks. We have no established key forwards except perhaps a 32 year old that was let walk by his previous club, and we've seen two of the best mids in the competition walk to other clubs

If it's GC in round one, we'll start the year against arguably the 3 best mids in the business, including a Norm Smith medallist and the current Brownlow, and all we'll be able to offer up is an ageing Jack Viney, a cameo from Kozzie and a couple of our kids.

I'm as optimistic and hopeful as the next person, but let's at least be realistic.

we've finished 14th two years in a row and have lost two generational players - minor premiers and three straight finals wins on to the next dees premiership; here we come!

but seriously - dees for bottom 6

bears, flagmantle, gc17, dingley, puddy tatts to battle it out for top 4 while filth, crom, gw$ fight not to drop out of the 8 in favour of footscray, aints, bloods

Very pessimistic

No way Jose , the top 6

The bottom 6 , i hope not,

Bottom half of the middle lot,

Is about what i expect, if we can win a few games to form a base and show a better attitude in close games. A new game style new coaching, it will not change or gel overnight,

Need to be a grasshopper !

I will remain the optimist who is sometimes wrong rather than the pessimist who is always right - top 4 and win 3 finals ❤️💙❤️💙🏆🏆🏆

Not going to pick the ladder at this time but I have a sneaky feeling we will make the eight. The young fellas will be released to play their best under King and surprise many on here and outside.

16th List not good enough aging defence who play conservative slow footy and not enogh goal kickers

A year of rebuild and redesign

Backline might be OK we still have Petty, Lever, TMac.

Midfield the biggest question but at least we got rid of two liabilities in terms of where we wanted to take the team moving forward.

Forward line. Kozzy? Fritsch back to his best? JVR improving with Miochek giving him some help?

I think we can still be OK. Finish 10-12, that's my expectation.

The two rules of predicting a ladder:

1) Ensure you have turnover in the top 8. 9 out of the last 10 years you’ve had at least 3 changes to the top 8 from one year to the next.

2) Since the AFL became an 18 team league, at least one elimination final loser will miss the finals the next year. Take it to the bank that Freo or GWS will miss finals next year.

1) GC

2) Brisbane

3) Hawthorn

4) Geelong

5) Sydney

6) St Kilda

7) Fremantle

8) Bulldogs

9) Adelaide

10) Collingwood

11) Carlton

12) GWS

13) Port

14) North

15) Essendon

16) Melbourne

17) Richmond

18) West Coast

(I’ve predicted us to have a 5-18 season but I really have no idea how we’ll go next year)

I like your scientific approach @Bring-Back-Powell. I have a similar approach. Wait for David King's predictions and do the opposite.

Geez you have more confidence than me. TMac had a good year but is a year older the other two move like treacle and struggle with injury most of the time. Opposition teams would love seeing us lineup with them in our backline in my opinion.

I forgot Disco.

I’m guessing we’ll be bottom 6 whilst King gets his game plan enacted etc.

Pies out of the 8.

Who of Clarkson/Scott/Voss will survive next year.

Blues fans are out for blood so if he stinks up the first 5 rounds, it will be a bloody long season for him. Or short.

He correctly picked the final 8 teams last season in March .... but broken clock and all

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
