Glad to see it spelled out that we would threaten to trade the pick to others keen on Sharp (Adelaide/Pies). First time I've seen Cal mention any possibility that we would consider Sharp when he mentions we might be 'snapping him up' if they don't get him with their first two picks but I think thats just a throwaway line.

I will be stoked with Farrow he looks like he could be a gun.

Don't think Essendon can risk not taking Sharp if they really rate him

Yes agreed. Grlj has pace to break the lines and plenty of repeat efforts. He can turn defence into attack really quickly. Not sure why he wouldn’t suit the new King style of play. Maybe clubs see him more as Billy Hartung than Zac Butters !!

Genuinely know very little about this years draft crop but we’ve really missed Pig since he retired. If we take Farrow, I’m hopeful that he can play a similar role.

Hard working HB with a decent leg and intercept mark. Sign me up.

Structurally we’ve missed a player in the back half who switch play aggressively and with distance.

We also miss another small forward who can convert chances into goals.

Hibs leg was good but it's not what made him great.

He was all heart and grit. Hated losing a contest. Thats what we miss.

Pig was seriously underrated. He could defend on a small or tall, had great physicality, a lethal boot and loved to attack.

Because he plays his best footy off the half back, mid who can go fwd or fwds who can develop into mids are much more valued

We may well be interested in Sharp especially as our 2 prime inside bulls are now Vines and Steele heading towards the twilight but right now still strong contributors.

Langford will likely be a very strong inside player in a year or 2.

I would not be surprised if we pick up Sharp is available at our picks.

I am hoping for Farrow and Nairn.

Neale and Dunkley I’ll give you but Brisbane maximise their value/minimise their disadvantages by Neale dominating in close and Dunkley locking down on the oppositions best mid.

If we do draft Sharp I’d try to utilise him just as the Lions do Dunkley. As a defensive mid at stoppages and stretching opponents in space with good work rate and overhead marking.

Sharp is nothing like a defensive mid. He's a see ball -get ball player. Hits the contect running. More Rowell like than most others

So is Josh Dunkley but he sacrificed his game because his ball use and movement aren’t as dangerous as others.

I have no idea whether our impending picks are good bad or meh... I do have a suspicion someone is going to throw a couple of spanners early.

King and Co have a game in mind. Im hoping JT etc understand the brief maybhave changed from 12 months ago.

Between Farrow/Nairn - we have options forward/mid/back for the future. Both tick the positional flexibility requirement.

Also shows us why a small forward is not high on our priority list - Dovaston/Pickett can play one position.

Cam Nairn and Jacob Farrow, now both likely to be selected by the Dees tonight, will be interviewed on Gettable at 9.30am and 10am this morning.

I understand the need for player versatility as we look to change the way we play. Last year we started to show we can move the ball quickly (not often enough) but again on many occasions we fumbled at the last kick inside our fwd 50. For years we have struggled with kicking to a forward, forwards knowing when and where to lead, forwards getting separation from each other, a key target, small forwards being at the drop of the ball & locking the ball inside our forward 50. We’re trying to address these issues with a new coach / game plan and already we have some personnel changes but we need more. Ideally we could use one or both the picks we got for Trac on gun mids but as we know they’ll be gone by the time our picks arrive. I think we should draft Nairn and Pickett and focus on mids next year. Get it done Dees.
