I'm not into personal attacks on Demonland, people can choose to believe stuff written here or not, but I'm still curious, how is Demon Forever's track record? Don't really recall any of his/her prior intel. Are we dealing with another goodwindees/Chook in Perth or Grand New Flag?

Heโ€™s doing less riddling and thatโ€™s good enough for me

If Humphrey lands at the Dees, we all buy him a beer I reckon ๐Ÿป

Heโ€™s 0/1 and when Humphrey stays heโ€™ll be 0/2 but hey itโ€™s a tough gig.

No takers, it would appear the word has got around.

Have you not learned from the mistakes brought up in other threads on here.

Melbourne will continue in its attempts to drag Bailey Humphrey out of the Suns despite the Gold Coast hard-line attitude that he will not be traded under any circumstances.

The Hawks would likely be prepared to offer up two first-round picks for Humphrey if he became available but at this stage the Suns are not yielding on any rival interest.

LOL @ Hawks thinking they'll get Humphrey for 2 first round picks in a terrible draft, when they already have enough points to take 2 of the best kids in the mix anyway.

If that's their offer versus us giving the GC Trac, they can take a hike

GC are very committed to Trac. They need this trade to happen

Also, GC want Tracc, they don't need pics. Especially right now, and there is never a lack of suitors for when they do need pics for their nepo handouts, that don't involve having to deal a player for said pics..

First I have to declare that don't take much notice of the GCS. So it maybe no surprise that I had not heard of Humphrey until this trade period started. How good is he? It would appear that the wraps are good.

Richardson contracted. Bartel was approached a while ago and he was int he process with Port. Still weighting it up but the fit works for him at melbourne and not having to move famly.

Scarlett - has a lot going on with work outside of football and has said he would be interested if it was part time. Dees want someone full time.

Humphrey definitely keen and MFC has asked to plead his case with GC. What GC do is the variable.

Is there any other news on the assistant coaching front? We seem to have a few roles to fill.

Always hated Geelong with a passion though that is at least partly due to their continued competitiveness - so don't mind the idea of a few ex-Geelong people getting on board. Is Tom Hawkins in the frame? We need some help with forward craft - and Mihocek is a start - but having a coach who's played in a modern system and known for not just kicking but also creating goals

I think it's more that Melbourne have shaken loose the possibility of him being traded and other clubs have seen this and done whatever they can to give themselves a chance to get him. He's an absolute jet and it would be silly not to speak with him if there was a chance he'd move clubs.

I think we are uniquely placed to have him shake loose, with a situation and carrot for GC that other teams just can't match, but I'd hope we'd make the call too if the roles were switched around. That is, GC won't move him for another team and he's contracted until 2028, so the point is pretty moot.

Itโ€™s really quite simple.

They need Humphrey.

They need Petracca.

They need to weigh up if they need one more than the other.

They give Humphrey up now and he moves home, and they land Trac.

Or they do it in 2 years when his contract ends and they donโ€™t have Trac.

Simple.

What if any of the players mooted here for trade (or even their agents for that matter) actually read these Demonland files, would there be any impact?

Surely the thought of being welcomed unconditionally by all here, forever, would be irresistible

Gold Coast supporters?

Yep. Both of them.

It's been a while since someone mentioned eggs on faces, but the egg on Gold Coast's face if they end up trading Humphrey to a contender like Hawks for picks, AND miss out on Trac, is gonna be messy.

This is a once in a Gary Ablett Jnr opportunity for the GC to land a big fish into their tiny pond.

Almost word for word what I just told someone.

Been told Humphrey had a call with manager and advised he wants out. Its a lot more real than its ever been. Gold coast playing hardball but this will now happen. Whether its us is another question. Not privy to conversations he has had with other teams. I do know that our conversations were very strong and it gave him plenty to think about. As I have mentioned before, another meeting has been organised, this time a lot less obvious than the Tan.

Oh and MFC are interested in Jake Rogers, but this will be treated separately.

Thanks @Demon Forever for sharing.

My gut feel is that it wonโ€™t be us he nominates but that could just me and my negative thoughts (and after SF nominated Saints)

Hope to god I am wrong.

It's still early days in the Trade Week but I think GC probably think that they can pry Petracca from the Demons for picks alone. Past experience has shown that the Dees don't play hardball when players want to leave. Hopefully we have hardened up and turned over a new leaf and are prepared to walk Petracca back to the club on day 1 of preseason training.

GC will be hoping that we fold and then if Humphrey still wants to leave they can hopefully pry as many picks as they can from the Hawks.

Everyone is trying to win here and that would be a double win for the Suns.

I too am pessimistic that if he nominates that he will nominate us.

I guess it will all depend on whether he is looking for money or success.

If it's purely money (and a larger midfield role) then that will be our only chance to snare him.

If he wants to come back to VIC but is desperate for immediate success then he will steer clear of this dumpster fire.

Tell me which part is more believable than me:

Melbourne wanted Humphrey and Flanders?

Proposed meet up that Tom nor anyone else knew about?

Secondary meeting?

Humphrey being told to push his case for an exit? That only came out today! I mentioned this days ago

Bartel being approached for next year?

Scarlett being convinced to go to the dees but he only wants to do it part time?

The mole at the club?

Most things i post were not reported on and some still haven't surfaced. Im not here to make you believe me

In JT I trust, in you I believe.

A win for everyone is Humphrey for Trac and Trac for Humphrey.

same position for Ainsworth, Fiorini and Flanders and Rosas. Happens quite a lot.

All of the above have left for lesser chances at a premiership

He canโ€™t want to come back to vic for family reasons and then demand which vic team he wants. GC will stick by its contract and say no unless itโ€™s appealing enough. Dees are the only club that offers anything of substance to GC. They arenโ€™t interested in draft picks as they are already recruiting 3 x 18 year olds

Out of curiosity, any draft watchers know what academy products they have in the pipe line for 2026?

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
