This was the last draft I had anything to do with and I never understood the Ainsworth love. Seemed very vanilla for a top 10 pick.

Someone had to go top 10 in that draft, I suppose.

IF the Bailey Humphrey trade happens, it's not going to become clear until very late in the trade period because it'll be off the back of the Suns caving and not wanting to miss out on Trac. it'll be a Wednesday thing.

Until then, trust the process and enjoy the ride. We'll get a really good trade return no matter the makeup of it and Trac will be playing for the Suns.

I think you’ve got it backwards on who’s more likely to cave first. Gold Coast hold all the cards here. Petracca has made it clear he wants out, and from what I’ve heard, he has no intention of returning. He’s nominated the Suns as his preferred destination, and we’ve given him our blessing to explore his options.

Bailey Humphrey, on the other hand, hasn’t done any of that. He was photographed meeting with the Dees but he hasn’t publicly said he wants to return home for family or personal reasons. He hasn’t requested a trade, nor has he been given permission to explore one. In fact, the Suns have categorically stated he’s not on the trade table.

Sure, we could hold Trac to his contract, but it’s far more likely we’ll be the ones to blink first and accept whatever Gold Coast put forward.

Take the picks and hope JT can work some magic.

Sure picks are a risk but we have JT. He has a better strike rate that is better than most

He's a good recruiter, but he's not perfect. Jefferson and Tholstrup are two first rounders who don't appear to be the stars or even consistent AFL players you'd hope for when drafting first round...

Take proven commodity over speculative ever day of the week. Give us a proven AFL level player as part of the package or no deal!

As someone with older relatives who discovered GIFS two years ago, and think that every one they send me deserves some kind of response/reaction, this thread has become a quiet torture.

I’ll just leave this here for discussion about the worth of picks (and the exclusion of the Dees and Petracca)

It infuriates me how they just neglect the Trac angle and MFC's dealings with GCS. The ONLY difference is that Trac has nominated. Curnow, Merrett and Humphrey have all told their clubs they want to leave.

Another reason why Trac is a *****. He blinked and has somewhat weakend our position. Because apparently the fact that he has nominated has given the public opinion [censored] (media) the impression that we are open to a deal. And the fact that TL has said he is coming back and we need a head turner to be convinced to let him go means jack.

I just cant wait until he has left our club. He is seriously a moron of epic proportions.

Trade Period ends on Wednesday you say?

There’s a reason it’s known as HUMP DAY!!

Can't be delusional lads

Everyone in trade news has nominated a FC

Humphrey hasn't.................

Trac will be dealt for those 2 firsts and Humphrey will make it to Hawthorn in 2027

Was an underwhelming crop, but remember scratching my head on why McLuggage didn't go pick 1, why Shai Bolton wasn't a first rounder and why we didn't bother bidding on Josh Daicos with pick 46. He didn't project to be a world beater, but we had been linked with some interest, what did we have to lose at that point?

I heard of someone’s grandma who prints out every gif she gets from her grandson and puts them up on the wall at home

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
