What is it with the Bombers and the umpiring decisions in their favour, GOD I hate the BOMBERS

I don't think i hate any supporters more than Bomber supporters after they win.

I am not a violent man, but i wanted to start punching on after that loss.

They didn't deserve it, they got favourable umpiring desicions all game, yet still managed to whine at every call given against them.

[censored] I HATE ESSENDON!!!!!!!!

Stuff Essendon, we all hate 'em, but we need to just look at us tonight. The 4 points don't matter - I think that, after the first quarter, we worked as hard as we have all year to walk off the ground with our heads held high. We might not be thinking like that now, but we sent Daniher off with pride and I think we can happy with that (in time!)

I almost cried myself when I saw Neitz on the verge of tears during his interview with the Ox after the game. The new coach will be filling some HUGE shoes, no doubt about it!

Sums up our year really, but yes, i'm shattered we couldn't come away with a win.

the game was symbolic of the last 10 years for the demons... at times abysmal at others scintillating but in the end disappointment

Sport on M17S.

It was almost a carbon copy of ND's coaching record.

108 wins 114 losses NO PREMIERSHIPS

Tonight we showed how bad we can be and how good we can be but ultimately showed we were/are not good enough.

In the short term time will tell if a new voice can change that, or it is the players that too need changing.

Thanks for the ride Neale. While it was frustrating at times it was very, very exciting. Good luck

Go Dees - "Juice anyone?"

We're one loss closer to a number one draft pick....

Did I just say that? :o;)

As much as the loss hurt, it was just this thought that gave me much comfort.

I could see the loss coming, starting with the missed tripping free kick against Bruce, the tempo footy tactics with 90 seconds still left to play, the failure of Doggy to have one functioning football brain cell, every time they bombed long into the forward line we couldn't cope. Long gone are the days when Jeff White played a kick behind play and mopped up that kind of attack.

Go Tiges! I want Kreuzer.

Last night was terrilble, the year has been terrible. Watching Neale come off the ground with the boys had me sobbing like a baby for half an hour. And I was bloody [censored] off they couldnt at least string a win together for him, bloody hell if we cant win for our departing coach we are never going to win. And for the record I hate Essendon too

I have celebrated every Melbourne victory and (every scum loss since 1999) but this loss leaves me hollow like the 2000 GF. It's as though they had saved those losses up for payback last night. I hate those arogant pricks.

My mind tells me it is only a game but my emotions are a wreck this morning. The footy God's were again against us last night. I still don't get it why ND had to go and I don't want any response on that from the ND haters. They can use the many other threads we have had on here.

I endured the parking horrors( an hour driving around Telstra), Ticketmaster problems and queues despite having pre-booked my seats, a seat so high up that by the time I got down to Level 1 the farewell to ND had been done and gone. Stupid umpires, inept kicking for goal and all this surrounded by feral Bombers supporters all night. Not to mention playing at the Dome and not the MCG for his last game. There were so few Demon fans there.

I am going to have a miserable day maybe dare to watch the replay and maybe even have a good cry.

It was a lousy send off in so many ways for a loyal coach.

Gutted again- I agree!

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing about the Melbourne supporters there on friday. Apart from the tripping free not given to Bruce, I can't think of many times Essendon got favourable umpiring.

But, then again, I might be biased.

27 frees to 18 says your being biased. But then again saying that, there were umpiring decisions where i cringed going both ways.

No it does not. However I agree with your second sentence.

The refusal of the Lloyd mark in the goal square in the last quarter was a shocker and I have not seen any comments from the bias meter monkeys on that!

First quarter, hands in the back by Lucas on Bizzell, mark payed and goal. Shocking rule, but it is there and should be applied.

This rule is a travesty on our game and, if not gone next year, we must all mobilise ourselves to vote in directors who will appoint delegates that get rid of Demitriou, Anderson, Bartlet, Fitzpatrick and anybody else who had a hand in bring in something that was not asked for, was not tried out, was not warranted and is not appreciated.

Why do free kicks have to be even?

And the total number of frees only tells half of the umpiring story in a match. Where they were paid, the ones they missed, non paying of marks, inconsistencies, 50m penalties etc etc

I suppose it is easy for me to say this cos we won, but I think in the end I think both teams suffered from some bad umpiring on Friday night.

If Melbourne had held on to win, most Essendon supporters would be blaming the umps, but cos Essendon won, alot Melb supporters blame the men in yellow. It's nothing new.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
