Jefferson had a huge day. Zero marks. The evidence is in.

Injured his foot and hardly played second half, get ur facts right you Blowhard!

Yep. He is hardly a good player at VFL level. Move on. Kentfield with terrible preseason is showing far more than him.

Ditto previous poster, hardly played second half due to injury!

Guys, are the team playing the same system Goody was trying to implement with the seniors?

And what system would that be??? Oh I have it.. System of a Down! Interesting band, not a great brand of footy though!

Has to be sync across the two teams so that players from the VFL can step into the same role at AFL level and know the system/s.

Same across the AFL/VFL.

Casey were never seriously challenged Mboy38.

Land of the giraffes down there. Long way from ball drop to boot. And it showed.

Plus the handball while not perfect busted open the game for a stirring Casey victory

Agree re: final series

A fellow spectator and I were watching Box Hill warm up and both were struck by the height of many of their players. Big bastards everywhere 😅

How do the Finals structure up for the VFL whats the schedule?

In the wild card round 7 plays 10 and 8 plays 9. The two winners take the 7 and 8 slots and the finals continue as per the AFL Final 8 system. So we are in the first elimination final 5 v 8 in two weeks' time.

Would he have had twice as many marks had he played the full game?

We just had an awesome win. Why are you so belligerent? Ease up on folks a little. Geez Louise.

If he finishes top 10, let alone top 5, that will say so much about our season.

He is IMO at the heart of our struggles. A leader, but coasts through games, takes dinky and easy kicks, never imposes himself, all whilst playing a position that in the modern game sets up the best sides. An absolute mile off the best half backs, it isn’t even close.

That he is never seriously discussed as being on the chopping block at selection is a genuine part of our current predicament (the same goes for Sparrow, Petty and Langdon).

Oh, go titan ur anus!

If you had zero brains would you have increased your quotient after that comment??

100% agree

On 197 games. I look forward to his 200th early in 2026. Some of you will be there frothing at the mouth and gnashing teeth because you wouldn’t know a club success story from the blue Wiggle!

It’s possible to celebrate the achievements of our premiership players and long time stalwarts of the club, whilst simultaneously being open to challenging their role now, or moving forward.

In fairness, Jeffo had treatment on a foot injury with taping across the top of his foot, and played very little of the second half.

Still doesn't alter the fact he is seldom in the top 6 at Casey. Our forward needs lie elsewhere.

Great question @Go Ds

Some of these boys are smelling opportunity when opportunities weren't presenting themselves in the past.

Not wrong. But has he left his run too late? Would be shame to see him reinvent himself at another AFL club as a defender, but it's a cruel AFL world.

He has been at 2 AFL teams and failed show he has the talent to be a regular player at senior level. All over for him sadly.

Laurie - I can't understand why he can't translate this to AFL

Because he hasn’t had a tenth of the opportunities that some of Goodwins favourites have been given

Disgraceful

Will definitely finish top 10 in B&F, could be top 5

If that happens it's an embarrassment he's so slow a 🐢 would beat him over 100 metres and his throwaway handpasses and dinky kicks that causes turnovers time to move on.

And, to clarify, I presume '8' will be the lower placed of the two wild card winners? (while Brisbane, 6, get the higher placed?) The only alternatives would be pre-ordained match-ups - 5 gets the winner of 7 v 10 and 6 the winner of 8 v 9 or vice versa. That could see 6 getting a lower finisher than 5! Surely not!

Although, this is the AFL VFL fixturing machine...

Pots & Kettles...

It’s been a pretty exciting five weeks (+ bye)for Casey, forcing their way into the eight and then ending 5th, they have found their mojo led by Billings, Bonner, Laurie, TC and a re-invigorated playing group, plus get a couple back from the 1’s for finals.👍😁

it feels strange to say this but... fullarton should be perservered with, as a tall defender option

I think he's gone, but he's making a decent late run, isn't he?

And hoping Sestan is recovered and up for selection. I assume there is a limit on the numbers of AFL listed players that are allowed in a team in finals?

Good there are some wankers on here sometimes, just had a great win and some still want to whinge about something…oh well, haters gonna hate.

Is it too much to ask Billings to bring some of his vfl form to the seniors? Surely he’s wondering by note why he isn’t getting a look back in the senior team. I mean we all know what sound probably happen, but I feel like he’s been working harder than ever and something has shifted for him because he really is up the top of the stats quite regularly now isn’t he?
