As long as he fits in and gives more value than the last Brodie we got from Colonwood we should be happy.

So much sooking over pick 61 and F3. Posters must have been to a Petracca master-class. Looking forward to the mega melts when we pay real extras in the Petracca-Humphrey deal.

61 for 71 is meaningless until it isn’t. Which is kind of the Tim Lamb special. Just giving a little bit more than he needs in every deal until it adds up over time and the list is shot

Is it too much to hope for that it is not a Lamb shank? 😁

Very impressed by his attitude and determination to help lead our young forwards.

Hope he stays well and fit for a couple of years at least.

Also, averages 27.5 goals for the last 2 seasons, which is his "current form"

I’m going off average goals per game.

He is averaging 38 goals per season for the past 2 years.

missed half a season with injury last year

Anyone can manipulate stats to suit their agenda, we see it on here all of the time... I hope he kicks 40+ myself, lets see.

Manipulate stats or provide facts that disprove your argument?

He has a long proven record of kicking 1.7 goals per game in good teams and poor teams

It sounds like he's excited to play alongside Max

Great news. What's his mid field tank like??

A forward line of 4 players that are capable of kicking 40 goals a year in Brody, Melk, Fritta, and Kozzie is a good result and will occasionally cause the oppo some headaches.

I’d love it if JVR can hit the 35 mark next year.

We’ve got Heath now and 5 available on the bench.

JVR stays in the forward line. Needs to get his average over 1.5 this year. Career average is 1.3.

I heard Nathan Buckley speak highly of Brodie. He would appear to have all the hallmarks of a good clubman.

His answer to the ‘good mids at Melbourne are going mate’ (paraphrase) question was haphazard but great: Kids getting in there lift and they have some objectively talented young players.

I hope Im wrong but I suspect that Brodie is pretty much cooked ,hence the Pies one year offer .We never seem tp learn.

He would have done a physical with us.

He's probably reached his use by date at the filth but still handy for us.

We'll see i guess 🤔🤷‍♂️

That may be, but our best forward last year was Jake Melksham.

So we can do with the gamble

I think if you think we are a chance of making finals it’s worth the gamble. Personally I don’t think we will and would have rather try to find another younger player.

We learned this lesson in 2008-2013 didn’t we? No one develops when everyone is ‘developing’

God I hate being a Melbourne supporter sometimes

From 9:00, specifics of his foot 'revealed'. Cause for caution, when considered in conjunction with 'I'm banged up', 'the problems I've got with my body', playing through a couple of games with the toe, and (apparently) being left - for the time being - to recover himself?

See above.

Notwithstanding (or resting?😉) I'm pretty bullish about him!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
