Is AJ playing? Has he done anything?

Injured ankle operation

thankfully didn’t wake up to watch this but by the looks of the stats luker and menta only ones to do anything is that correct?

To be honest, our skill level is not up to standard. Kynan is not up to it, and neither is Henderson. Too small, too slow and ball handling under pressure is not up to standard. Lever is a worry, and he certainly could not expect to return to the seniors on that game. I suspect Laurie fits into the same category. Swallow lifted when needed and impacted the last 10 minutes, while Billings showed that he still has some class and knows where to get the ball.

Kentfield impressed, and Fullarton didn't, while JVR showed signs and thankfully didn't ruck. Mentha jnr is very raw, runs like the wind, but is a deer in the headlights when in possession, worth putting the time into. Windsor proved he is a mid, but his kicking has gone off. Ran into an open goal late and missed. Adams, I fear, for he doesn't impose himself enough. It is obvious with Disco & Howes in the seniors that they will be the preferred backs, with Petty perhaps going back, and TMac seeing out the season at Casey.

Verral was hardly used, as I suspect Campbell was required to contest against Moyle, who is a giant.

That was winnable, but in the end, missed set shots, skill errors, and turnovers cost us. I hope Sestan gets back quickly, as his skills are required, and like it or not Spargo is a better player than those I saw up forward today.

Out for 4-6 weeks with an ankle.

Still wasn't the worst today

No that was Spargo

Watched the last 20 minutes.

Tom Mac handballs to a Sun in the goal square for a goal.

Hardie runs into open goal from 12 metres out and hits post.

Windsor misses a simple pass for another turnover and Suns goal, misses a regulation kick for goal and appears to jib a contest for another Suns goal.

Dropped marks by several Casey players.

Missed handballs by Casey players.

Second to the ball.

Wrong options chosen.

Missing simple goals.

Several Casey players not involved.

Suns can't miss, as per usual with our opposition.

Lose by 9 points in typical seniors fashion.

All that in 20 minutes I saw.

Don't suppose the first 3 quarters were a lot better.

WOW!

Watched a bit of it 'Red' and nothing to inspire...

Probably makes Some hard decisions easier for some older guys.

Question where and what position did Windsor play.

Largely agree with your overall summation OD.

Ricky Mentha watch is indeed on. Has shown definite promise and is steadily developing his game as the season progresses IMO. Exhibits some silky skills and is not shy about initiating body contact. Continuity of performance throughout the whole four quarters of a game, will come when he develops his aerobic capacity and strength further.

Luker Kentfield another diamond in the rust? Had presence up forward, leads intelligently and takes the ball high with a vise like grip. On today's performance kicks accurately and strongly overall.

Not giving up on Bailey Laurie either. Is he a slow burn?

50 minutes ago, whatwhat say what said:

windsor APPALLING lack of intensity - doesn't body line the ball attacking i50 and sees them easy transition to i50

That was a shocker- game was well and truly alive too

Only watched the first half

What happened to the great corridor play of a few weeks ago.

They were obviously trying the connection game of handball and short low kicks but in the main the handballs missed and the kicks were so low they hit the ground half way.

Lever needs a rest and a reset. The modern game has left him as a dinosaur. He was always an up and under with his kicking style and he is easily bypassed by fast delivery into our defensive 50

Interestingly TC was injured early in the last game against these guys.

So Verrall was used in that game for 80+% – had 26 possessions and quite a few clearances and tackles – and probably broke even with Moyle, who was credited with a lot of hitouts – but very few to advantage, and 2 goals – kicked on AJ.

I thought Campbell lost his feet today a lot and was not able to provide any pressure around the contest which led to easy clearances for Gold Coast.

Serious doubts about Whitford’s coaching ability. In the last game, Verrall has one of his best games – this game he was lucky to get on the park.

JVR, JB, Laurie and a heap of others also don’t know whereabouts they are supposed to be.

Something is badly wrong here.

Come on get serious - after 3 years Verrall is still clueless against any decent VFL standard ruckman. He is a total bust. Barely better than Fullerton. Anyone with any nous can see that.

I’ve often thought that people who have not played that position to a reasonable standard, should not comment about it.

It seems that you don’t know anything about Ruckmen, but you do know about being clueless.

If you were watching the past couple of years, you would’ve seen that Verrall usually at least breaks even, and often gets the ground ball clearance out to the running players.

TC does a lot of good bullocking work at stoppage, but drops off too soon and gave up quite a few clearances, as well as not being accountable for Moyle the forward line.

I thought it was ridiculous , early in the third quarter when Kentfield, who had just kicked two goals, and must have been feeling very confident, was TAKEN OFF!!!

He couldn’t have been tired, it as only 5 min since the half time break.

Interesting point of view.

So for example no poster who hasnt played as a fwd at a reasonably high level should post an opinion of whether Schache was up to scratch or maybe Lucas Cook or even Ben Brown. Hmm Demonland would be pretty boring.

Tell you what if Verrall makes the grade (25 senior games) I will pay $100 to your favourite charity.

I apologise for all the negative comments I made about Josh Schache. Clearly I didn't have a clue.

With Howes and Petty out for next week … who to bring in???

Who was our best at Casey … honestly … yes Bonner, Hardie and Baldi. But they are not listed.

So possibly Windsor, JVR and … Mentha (as the sub ).

Bill seems to know where to be and how to use it.

Needs a run in the senior for an extended period.

Seems to be organising the mids too

Perhaps he is a leader?

Excuse my ignorance. Who is Bill?
