Laurie has been excellent all year in the VFL and I would be shocked if someone doesn’t come for him like the Eagles, Bombers or Blues for example.

I think I have conceded on Verrall, who doesn’t appear likely to make it and Heath will probably take his spot.

If we are a chance for Windhager as Finey is saying, then I could see Sparrow going home.

I think May will go and I have suggested even the Pies might grab him for a year or two and despite what the Dogs are saying maybe even them.

I still think Lever is a chance to leave and become the general of North’s Defence.

If we can find another key forward or Jeffo and Luker step up, Petty can go back.

I think keeping Tom Mac another year suggests we will lose 1-2 older key backs and he is that experience we may need for a year.

I see Hore, Fullarton, Woey, Brown, Billings, Henderson, Verrall, Spargo, Laurie, May and maybe Lever, Sparrow and McAdam gone depending on whether the new Coach wants to give McAdam one more try in his last year.

Tracc, if a big club he like comes hard and offers a good deal, could also go.

That is a lot of movement and it can only all happen, if we have a few more players wanting to come to us.

Think you will find that Culley will just remain on the rookie list instead of being upgraded.

Upgrade from SSP to Rookie

Right now he is on the list due to AMWs injury, he is the 46th man at the moment

Is Verrell out of contract? He's improved this year but he still looks a mile off. Saying that, I can't see us delisting him if Campbell retires. Our ruck depth would be non existent.

On that topic, I find it odd that even though we have the best ruck of the generation on our list, our history of developing young rucks over the last decade (LJ aside) is surprisingly poor.

Lachie Filipovic, Mitch King, Austin Bradtke Kyah Farris-White. The list goes on.

Fingers crossed Kalani breaks the pattern.

Verrall pretty much got subbed after half time. Read on twitter he was sat at the back of the bench the whole second half.

Sestan …likely gets 1 more year … needs to really get a big pre season in

On the edge. Must prove themselves Laurie Sestan Jeffo Adams Johnson rookies: Kentfield Culley AMW Mentha

let’s see how you fit in . Salem Sparrow Salem had some good games but got exposed in others as slow and also slow to dispose of the footy (often sideways and with no impact) needs to discover kicking skills into the corridor Sparrow is stuck as not quite a midfielder and not quite a half forward , so where does he play

  • Add Culley as upgrade from SSP to rookie

  • Add Derksen + add another mature player

  • Add White (likely list) and Sinnema (likely cat b rookie)

  • Add 2 quality youngsters in the draft

Agree with literally everything except McAdam. Move him on. Broken body. Wasted money. Delist and open a spot, bring in a kid, or trade him.

Cannot see us "freeing" McAdam. I doubt anyone would want him as a trade with his injury history.

May as well let him see out next year and hope he comes on. Ideally he would challenge for Melksham's place by season end.

My guess is 2026 will be a tough year with at best an 8-10 ladder position outcome

We should look to pay him out

Lets do everything to keep Lever ,Trac ,Clarrie and May .Their absolute best might be behind them but they are indescribably superior to any possible replacement I watched last night .The chances of verrall ,brown, wowy kenterfield sestan tholstrup or adams making it are somewhere between nil and zero .Did JT even see Sestan play ? Looks more like a foreman at the steelworks than an AFL footballer .

That's the alternative or we could trade him and pay 70% of his salary. With six or more ready made delistings I don't see it being of much value

(oh to think we gave up the pick we got back for ANB)

The only reason to do that is if we need desperately need the list spot.

Stating the obvious, but we need a tall key forward who can jump. We have lots of 192-195 types, but we lack the 200+cm key forward that other sides have.

Critical for the kick to a congested contest. I think a good forward mix includes a 200 cm, King type (Petty is not the guy) a 194cm roaming CHF (JVR could be this if he learns to mark and develops some forward craft, or Kentfield) and a couple of 188-190 types mobile, yet strong aerial forwards (Fritta and possible another one required to replace Melksham)

B: Lever, May, McVee

I'd delist Jefferson or Laurie promising to pick them up in the rookie draft.

Delist Jeffo!? Our greatest ever forward?

Maybe we should trade max and sign mark neeld as coach again while we’re at it

We are going to need delist and put at least 1 player on the rookie list now that Campbell has signed maybe 2. Don't understand signing Campbell if we are after Heath both will want to be the number 1 ruck for Casey. The first person I would delist then put on the rookie list is McAdam just like Melksham was when he was injured. The second could be either Jefferson or Laurie either one I don't care. We may have to rookie both. Unless we are planing to trade out the players that have been mentioned as possible trades like Lever, May, McVee, Petracca and Oliver.

Update on prior post from last week

I had Sestan as staying and Woey jnr as the unlucky one

But it was actually Sestan as the tough call and I think unlucky to be delisted, as he had shown good form at Casey until injured

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
