We had a key tall he just plays with no physicality whatsoever. Petty has to be the most frustrating player on our list, so many times today he just had to make a contest and with the slightest body from Moore he just gave up competing. Also missed a sitter in the 1st half which proved costly.

The composure of Sidebottom and Pendlebury v the opposite from Oliver and Petracca. I thought Oliver and Tracc were good today but the same old issues really stood out when you have a comparison like those two Collingwood champions. I'll give Lindsay the benefit of the doubt for his 50 - much worse hasn't been paid but Pickett knows better and his lack of discipline in big games really hurts. Fritsch goes from chocolate royals to boiled lollies in one play that ultimately costs the win. It was another one of those games that we have seen plenty of in the last few years but in so many ways we are a really good footy team.

One thing for certain, Max's kicking is borderline diabolical at times

JVR played 60% of game time and half of that was as a second ruckman, as has been the case his entire career.

We draft a key with forward with genuine potential and don't allow him to play his natural position for more than 5 minutes each quarter. It's no surprise he's struggling, I'd like to see more from him too but he's clearly being mismanaged.

I'm amazed by some of the negativity here (...no I'm not). Almost everyone thought we'd be lucky to come with 5 goals of them, many expected a 10 goal thrashing, yet we lost by a single point!!

Sure it would have been great if the point was in our favour instead, but it wasn't. Despite all our mistakes, it ended up a toss up.

Of course we could have done better and we have problems.

But if that is all C'Wood can do against us then I'd say they must have problems too.

I know exactly what Max wanted to do. I just wish that he knew what we all know, which is that he can’t make that kick happen.

Max is a champion, but he has to know his limitations. Kicking is his.

As for May, I don’t know what he said so I won’t judge him. He was BOG for us and he is a passionate guy. I watched Clarry punched the ground when Max kicked it. They all felt it. I really don’t think Max would take it to heart. They’re big boys who care deeply. And thank god for that. If they didn’t care I’d be worried.

And made zero impact when he was up forward. Totally bereft of ability to create space. Today was his chance to make some sort of impact and he failed miserably. Don’t make the same mistake I have for the last few years and give him the benefit of the doubt, he is simply a below average football player at best and I’d be happy to see him off the list.

The moment Oliver kicked it out on the full - I knew we were cooked.

Agree. It was a poor decision picking him. He is often in no-space nowhere near where the ball is going and today that was so obvious he didn't even crash too many packs - one I counted. His 3 marks were uncontested. No score. No impact. Shouldn't be in the side.

Kozzie needs to be more disciplined - that 50 and Fritsch's brain fade largely cost us the game at the end. Not to mention the poor kicking.

The umpiring was inconsistent but that is not why we lost.

We know this league is corrupt and Naicos is the Macedonian flopper, but fact of the matter is, we win that with just a bit more composure and smarts when we had momentum. We primarily lose momentum due to our own undoing.

Richmond were bottom 6 for free kicks across their 4 years of dominance and 3 flags.

Just really sick of losing to these [censored] and the same way time and time again. Yeah, we were brave and should be proud, but honorable losses for a group with this much top end established talent to compliment the younger blokes like Tholstrup, Langford etc shouldn’t be tolerated any longer.
