This has all the hallmarks of a memorable triumph which will go down in history.

I don’t even know why I said that. It’s late and I have to be at Fed Square at 8am.

‘Night all 🥱

That's got to be the best forward line we've had in the last few years post BB? on paper at least. It's the one that would've beaten them in the QF with Melksham & Petty. Today will be the best chance since then. Go Dees

Monday lunchtime game for me and I am in Denmark. Don’t ask me why. More talking to people and a bit of listening. Will have to watch the game on replay when I can.

I like the selections except for Tholstrup. Would have kept Laurie for a proper run. Looks like Tholstrup or Howes as sub for me. The rest of the selections give us a truck load of flexibility. I just hope that the coaching team use that.

I do not hold my breath.

Dees by 2 goals or 12 points.

at long last its game day GO DEES

I just sent the Domestic Staff outside for 10 minutes to see how wet and cold they got. That "litmus test" told me it's a terrible day so I'll be an armchair supporter for this game.

I realise that wet ****ty days have'nt suited us in recent years but i reckon the weather might even things up today. Endeavour and motivation will be major factors in the result.

Hopeful as always but not confident

The conditions will even things up but still a lot has to go right for us to get the result

to win we'll have to

a) bring maximum heat. if the pies get their transition game going we'll be sliced and diced

b) kick straight

c) get big games from Max Kossie and Trac. and 1 of our forwards (Fritsch?) to kick 3-4

The only cast iron guarantee is that the pies supporters will be as horrid as usual

Go Dees

At the first bounce the scoreboard says 0.0.00 for both teams. There’s every chance we’ll win this. Confidence and belief!

GO YOU MIGHTY DEES!

Many moons ago at the Junction. Playing the Lions. Scores level. Back in the day one took their trusty tranny ( meant something very different then 😉😆 ) ... at this point , listening to the game ol' Lou proffered one of his many gems.

"One goal each and the scores will be level" at which more than a few turned to look at each other with a " what did that bloody nong say !!"

So yes... who knows what the day brings ( other than more rain.... )

Hopeful but not confident like many others on here. A bit like before the Brisbane game although I think we have a good history of challenging the Lions, the Pies we don't.

We flipped the script against Freo back in round 6 so maybe we can do it against the Pies.

If there's one vulnerability for the Pies it's their midfield, and despite the debacle last week in Alice, we've been basically the best contest and clearance side over the last 6 weeks. Stopping Daicos is crucial and someone needs to run with Sidebottom all day. Melksham can hopefully limit Moore's intercepts and then we're in with a shot.

Dees by 10 if the above can happen.

If we can stay competitive, kick accurately and remain in touch going into the last quarter then anything can happen.

Their forward line is the big worry for me. Good blend of talls and smalls that can do some serious damage if let off thr chain easily. Elliott is in a rich vein of form.

Go Dees.

It’s gameday baby. [censored] pumped!

Keep calm and kick straight FFS.

See you at the G. Go Dees!

first all i have to get the spit off the tv from last week

I’m forever an optimist, but I must admit to struggling all week to make a case for how we can win today. Then I remembered last week’s Demonland Podcast, where @binman proffered the very cogent view that he thought we were ‘loading’ ahead of the Saints game, to have us peaking for today. I like it!

Dees to grind out a 9 point win.

On a train going to Fed. Square. Lucky socks are on 👍🏽

Running late. Called a Didi (poor man’s Uber) to take me to the train station and he never showed up! Had to walk 20 mins to the station in the rain.

As I’m boarding the train he messages me with “I’m at your house, I’m In a bit of a hurry. Where are you?” 😳 I messaged back “Are you [censored] serious???” Now his phone’s turned off. Dude won’t know what hit him when he turns it back on… hope he enjoys the messages I sent… he’s gonna wish I had a coffee first 😂

But this hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm at all! It’s dampened my lucky socks, but not my enthusiasm!

Let’s do this, Dees!!! 👊🏼

Not confident to be sure, but I expected that we would cop a huge belting from the lions and that Sydney would beat us.

What do I know except those lucky socks can work magic.

Go Dee’s

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
