Congratulations Christian Petracca 200th Game V Swans, what a man what a player, thinking back to ‘21 those mad focussed eyes after rolling that ball through the very middle of the sticks, then running purposely back to the centre, don’t get in my way, here we come. After watching Tracc’s Press Conference he is displaying strong leadership for his club, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that CP5 is a Dee for life.

i hope this encourages people to pay respect to one of our greatest and come out to watch a good win, but then again iam sure we will still get an average to poor crowd :/

We've averaged 38,000 people for Melbourne V Sydney games at the MCG since 2017 when Goodwin took over.

However, that average is brought down by a deplorable Friday night crowd in late 2019 when both sides were planning their end of season footy trip.

So, you would hope and expect a minimum of 40,000.

@FearTheBeard any indication if the top level of the Warne stand will be operating on Sunday? It will be nonsense if they close it as Sydney have a strong following in the AFL members.

40,000 plus would have to be seen as a good crowd.

MCG won't post that until tomorrow or more likely Friday.

Expect 35K, hopeful of 40k.

Sunday 3:20pm is not a great drawing slot, we got 42.5k in the same slot in 2023 when we still had optimism around the club. 52k against them in 2018 in the 3:20 but that was the BCNA game.

Need the weather to hold up. Currently 17 and sunny on Sunday but miserable every other day around it.

Just listening to this - esp the bit about "it's not about the wins and losses" is so inspirational. Need to have this guy leading us into the future in a managerial/entrepreneurial role.

That was truly open and honest interview, and it says a great deal about Tracc himself! He said that he wears his heart on his sleeve, and he sure does!

Congratulations to Christian Petracca on 200 games for the Melbourne Football Club.

His Norm Smith Medal winning performance in the 2021 AFL Grand Final helped the Demons break their 57 year Premiership drought! For that, I am eternally grateful.

I hope he plays at least another 150 games for the Melbourne Demons!

You are a Demons champion Christian!

We love you very much! ❤️💙

Good heartfelt interview. He’s the kind of professional that could easily be playing good football at 35. Wouldn’t it be awesome if he drag Oliver there as well. That’d really mess with the media’s agenda.

I have a feeling that there will be a very high MFC supporter crowd on Sunday. It feels a little like we weren't there to see them win so lets make up for it on Sunday. I know a lot of people who weren't sure about going to now definitely going. Hopefully this might be reflected in unrenewed members taking the plunge (so to speak)!

Interesting last November some of us were slammed for having a conversation with Trac and relaying back here what was said, and here he is effectively saying the same thing as he told us last November. Now do those naysayers believe us?

Anyway, more than happy to see Trac back to his happy self.

When I shared a little of a convo I had with Tracc last year a certain poster replied, “Guaranteed that conversation never happened.”

More recently I quoted Clarrie (verbatim) and was reported for posting the “most appalling post” ever seen on Demonland (according to a different poster).

So now, apart from conversations about haircuts or moustaches or favourite songs etc. I don’t share anything.

Anyways, on a much happier note, this is a “thumbnail” of the graphic on Sunday’s banner…

It’s gonna look incredible from the stands.

I don’t have a pic of the other side of the banner but it’s a giant graphic of Kozzie’s dad’s beautiful design.

Yep, exactly what I was referring to re conversations.

I'm sorry I wasn't at banner making last night. I was intending to go, but after work I was just zonked. I went to bed before the end of the footy last night, which is unheard of for me. I can't wait to see the banner up!

I can't remember it specifically. There was enough to write a book that was said around here in Oct/Nov so the memory is hazy.

If everything matches up then thank you for sharing in the first place.

All good, Kat. It’s back to the usual time (4-7pm) next week, thank goodness. This 6-9pm time-slot means watching the footy on the train ride home and although I wear headphones that doesn’t mean I don’t occasionally let slip with something like, “&@%# you, Bailey Smith, you @&#*%# piece of %*&@%* 😅

Sad thing is, last night's time slot suited me. I cannot make it during the normal time, as I'm in a meeting at work til 5pm, and it's too hard to get from Dandenong to Kensington in a reasonable timeframe. Mind you I think that response re Bailey Smith is perfectly appropriate.

Hey Media if you start raking up sheet we'll get yu...........posted to Tasmania as a copy boy.

Did everyone miss this from his presser?

His milestone game record is zero and three.

Uh-oh...

So, break that for him, boys! He'll certainly be doing his bit!

But his grand final record is 1-0

I hope Melbourne supporters turn out for this one, Tracs 200th, 19 degrees with minimal or no rain, Sunday afternoon coming off a great win.

No excuses! Show the team and Trac your support

I’m doing my bit.. coming up from Ballarat for my 3rd games this year.

Bringing the wife (who hates football) 2 kids (who hate football) and my wife’s best friend from Sydney who has never seen football… should be a good day.

Best thing about birthdays is people have to say yes….

Lord Edward and I will be there with the rest of the family. Can't wait!

Yeah his 150th was funnily enough also against Sydney in the 2022 week 1 final.

The 100th game was that yuck 2020 Cairns game V Freo.

50th was a 2018 thumping from the Pies on Queens birthday.

Edited by Bring-Back-Powell

Sort of like how he said that he is zip three in previous milestone games. Time for a change I reckon.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
