An excellent defensive effort to hold it together after Disco went down. Huge game from TMac. I have been critical of Howes in the past but he played his role well today.

Langford looks a star of the future.

Backline wssnt good enough. Cant be leaking 100 point every week.

Come on , no Lever May McVee. Turner off at half time.

Today was the first day I tipped against Melbourne. Ever. And I'm no spring chicken. I've never been more glad to be wrong in my life.

Me too, same on all parts of that post.

That play Max has used for years of taking it out of the ruck is so dangerous if instead of kicking it long and high to a contest, he forward handballs to a mid on the move out the front of stoppage. It's practically undefendable.

Because it forces the half back to press up, leaving our half forward free to bang, bang, bang.

I was at the game and didn’t realise that Turner went off the field injured.

That makes our win even more impressive

Our little one was lucky enough to get a ball after the game and with the sweetest message.

All class by Chandler.

We kill the clock correctly in Round 1 and we're 2-4.

The strange thing is it was a very similar game to the GWS game. Though today our bounce off half back was scintillating. Bowey BOG for mine. Set up so much of our play.

There's a sample size of 2 really clear examples of the game plan we're trying to play and so much starts from at stoppage, which we finally got mostly right today. But the biggest change was that final kick inside. It was superb today. I could count on one hand how many poor entries we had. A very welcome change, and you can see when we get that kick right, it doesn't matter too much who's down there, but as long as we get a contest, we look super dangerous.

We also looked to use the corridor and a short chipping game again that was more attacking than just possession maintenance that we saw in Round 1.

Amazing how we look when the players put in and the forwards lead at the ball carrier.

The game, even more so than Round 1, felt like the 2018 Goodwin team.

To paraphrase great Roger Moore in For Your Eyes Only, "we're not dead yet, Goody".

Top 4 chances?

I think the odds are 14 to 4. Pretty obvious, really!

We would have beaten a lot of teams today. And Freo are a good team and kept coming at us

Loved the constant playing on and the sharing of the ball with great teamwork. Our default move was to look for a teammate

We looked and played really well. Kozzie set us alight and away we went

Petty was excellent up forward and the 4 musketeers all contributed to a good degree. Future looks bright with that quartet

And we won without May, Lever & McVee (all walk up starters)

Not sure that JVR or Fritsch get back anytime soon as our forward line worked really well without them today ... still, a spell in the ressies never hurt anyone

Sharing is caring ❤️

Could be an important 8-point game in the hunt for the 8, too.

Let's see how Freo go against, Crows, Saints, Magpies, Giants, Port and Gold Coast in the next 6 weeks.

Loved the cheer squad really trying to generate some noise in the last quarter, then the score board had a “make some noise” screen, showing the cheer squad which only amped them up more.

Super effort by the demon army, rest up the tonsils on a short turnaround

He well and truly had Amiss' measure and then he went off and Howes had to play tall on Amiss, which is when he got into the game.

Turner's first involvement in the game was a strong contested mark at CHB. Great stuff.

The future could well be at one end:

McVee Adams Lever

Windsor Turner Bowey

And at the other end:

Kolt JVR Chandler

??? Petty Trac

There is something to be said for giving Chandler more opportunity further up the ground. He has the pace & he competes hard. Hopefully he’ll continue to get a run in that position rather than deep forward

Kades been playing an ANB style high half forward since rd 2, to my eyes at least. And performed superbly.

He and the little red Bowser would be top 2 in the Bluey with max not far behind

Probably yes. At least Koz will make Freo pay up to get him.

Yeah, Love Power!

My Darling decided i needed to go to the hotel and watch the second half.

So much great play and so much terrible play But what the heck we WON Go DEES

No idea of good players, Obviously big Max , thought Langford was good Bowey and TMac, Petty was a presence for a change. And Spargo and CHinny Chin Chin, 2 Schooners and my darling was apologising to the other patrons saying He thinks he is at home. Some silly errors but stil reasons to smile Go Dees

Oh so won't play next week.

Just got home from the game. Thought Kozzy was best on ground by a country mile but obviously it looks different on TV.

Langford...oh my wordy

Little shout out to Kolt.

First game back and didn’t get much of it but his pressure and aggression is something I definitely notice. Happy he’s back. Will find more of the ball soon enough.
