Tom Sparrow… 50 minutes time on ground for 2 touches, two tackles, one mark and one free against.

I haven't watched much of this game, but just reading everyone's comments I think it suffices to say the players don't care about their coach anymore. Just look at their half efforts.

F’ing unbelievable, another 2 goal half and Goodwin can’t see the need to change anything. Totally disgraceful coaching.

I just witnessed the most uninspiring quarter of footy I've seen in my life.

No spirit, no drive of the half back line, no marking ability.

This is unbelievable.

Legitimately thought things couldn’t get any worse and we have around a 65-70% chance to get a win tonight such is the defensive vulnerabilities of *, but we genuinely might not get a win until West Coast in 3 weeks time.

To look so unthreatening against * is just absolutely shocking.

someone needs to make a call

Goodwin gone or Trust Goodwin and trade Oliver petty Petracca

Probably lose JVR Lindsey Langford Windsor

Pickett gone

I mean why would these guys stay

I wouldn’t

Club is a basket case

This should be posted on the walls of the Dees training ground

They have no marks inside 50. It’s as though they come to training in whatever gear they want to wear and muck around."

JvR being set up for failure.

Langdon can hold his head up high.

This season has quickly devolved from me being hopefully of a win in most games we play to just being interested in the young players development. Sad.

Yep Langers only one who has maintained his levels.

At the ground and it’s bad. Really bad. The spirit of this team is broken.

full external review end of season

Public

No holds barred

Top to bottom

How did this happen and who is responsible

A review was done, yet with Pert who’s no longer there! A club without a permanent President, CEO .. nothing against Green… but it’s time for Goody & a list mgt shake up … to have basically no talls in the Fwd line us a joke after 3 years of winning a flag , Goodwin has completely unwound the foundations of contest & defence set by Roos ..I’d be surprised if trac dosent request a trade.

If time travel was possible, I wouldn’t want to go back to 2012 or 2013…. But apparently I have.

Why would anyone back Goodwin?

Maybe they should listen to the fugazi (white noise) during the week, take note of what’s said outside the bubble.

Clearly listening and tapping inside the bubble isn’t working.

This is what happens when you drink your own bath water.

Time has come for change.

At this rate, would be very lucky to get 50,000 Anzac Eve.

Goodwin has lost me

but players like trac, clarry, fritsch petty need to take a look in the mirror.

a team with 15 premiership players should not be this bad irrespective of who the coach is. shameful effort

I can see the changes for next week

IN: Jeffo, Fullerton, Disco

Unless Jeffo has recovered from his hand injury he won't be in. Fullerton can kick another 10 in the next 3 game and he won't get a game because Goody hates him for some reason, Disco might get a chance.

We are not winning against West Coast, no chance in hell.

18 more weeks of this debacle. Are we officially in crisis? Goodwin must go now!

I didn't buy the love in stuff for a second. This place is rotten .

The "love" mantra is a crock of [censored]. We've [censored] ourselves royally. After 2021 we talked ourselves up as a dynasty in the making. Hubris exploded with that rearward looking GF MCG big screen replay event during the 2022 preseason. We had the 2022 Entrecote debacle, rumours of off field issues, etc. Signs of resentment building, and no wonder. Imagine being a broad number of our mid-tier premiership players negotiating contracts and being told that the salary cap was tight, while they look across to millin-dollar mids either going off the rails or cracking the sads and getting Presidents and CEOs sacked.

No wonder we have a field of players with no unity or system or trust or confidence.

And don't get me started on the osteopath cosplaying as Burgess in our fitness dept.

Look, we're working incredibly hard to improve our method.

Gosh I'd love Garry just to tee off & just launch into us

I’d let him loose in the change rooms.

Just devoid of hope at this point. It’s like in trying to adopt a new gameplan which doesn’t suit our players, we’ve forgotten all the things we did well. Now we don’t do them, and can’t do any kind of gameplan.

very dispiriting to watch.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
