Fair. I’ll reel myself back in and not get so wound up next time.

Also being fair, the comments themselves were of substance and articulate, so I guess you were just the right amount of wound up but walked through the wrong door!

i love gc17's pink guernsey

they should wear it instead of that red monstrosity

Agree. I think the horrible logo lets it down though.

I'm not saying the umpiring has been strange at times this round, but I do feel like the officiator's cellar shouldn't be opened until after the game because the 3/4 time tipple is clearly having an impact.

Anyway, nice to see that Maynard will certainly get rubbed out for a few weeks for that completely unwarranted elbow directly to the face of an opponent after the ball had already moved on.

I'm sure he deviated course into Maynard's elbow.

I'm sure boofhead has the red wine and choccies ready.

If someone is just waking up from a coma after 1 year and turned on the Carlton West Coast match, judging from the over the top celebrations from both fans and players, you would be forgiven to think the coma individual just watched a grand final. 🤣🤣🤣

Durdin in carrying on like a pork chop. Where was he the previous 4 weeks? 🤡

I see you’ve learnt nothing from recent years.

Remember when Carlton was flag favourite this time last year after starting the season like a house on fire? Or when Geelong won their first 7, only to lose their next 5?

Or when we went 10-0 to start 2022, and then…no I know you remember that one.

Collingwood look good now, even though they’ve copped some good luck getting Sydney and the Dogs when they did, with both missing stacks of elite talent. But it’s Round 5.

I get the impression people don’t rate Collingwood because they hate them more so than actually analysing their list and the way they play, which is strongly suited to the modern game.

I firmly believe Collingwood will be there on prelim final weekend, at the minimum.

My mate who supports Collingwood textured me straight after the game and said so you rate us top 4 now. I said no but top 6 yes.

Hawks, GWS, Lions, Cats top 4 for me.

Then Pies, Dogs,

7 -8 will be between Saints, Crows, Suns, Freo but won’t make the prelim.

Beat the Lions and it’s a conversation but not until then, he did acknowledge that Dogs were robbed a few weeks ago when they played them.

5 weeks in and it’s season over for 8 teams for various reasons.

Way to early to call mate

The premiers and another top 4 team were in the bottom 4 this time last year

Burgess the secret weapon. Adelaide totally transformed, they remind me of us in 21

Burgess would have to take his share of the blame for the 50 point turnaround at home

People actually like GC's pink jersey?

Looks horrible to me. Like a dodgy training bib

Gold Coast are top of the table!

Yes you heard me

Nth getting another thrashing. It makes that loss against them even more embarrassing

They played it like their Grand Final. Been rubbish every other week.

yep all thanks to the afl or should i say afl queensland, academy bs ruins the game

This game has Footscray versus Fitzroy at the Western Oval vibes.

Can’t remember seeing a kid dominate so quickly as Darcy is. It is changing the way the Lions are playing as he marks everything. Throws his body around and kicks goals

The Dogs are similar club to us , only 1 flag in 60yrs & didn’t maximise their premiership clock, yet they have found ways to somehow reinvent themselves & haven’t bottomed out …Let’s see if/how Goodwin can pull us out of deep hole

having a generational player like darcy land in their lap as a father-son has been a big part of that

what i've been impressed by bevo's work in the last couple of years is to transition lobb into one of the best defenders in the competition and to take lachy bramble from an also-ran into one of the best rebounding defenders in the competition

and this is even without jamara becoming the player he promised to be even as recently as last year due to a myriad of...issues

Hadn’t Christian already said he won’t look at it and in fact the so called victim will be cited for head butting his elbow just like Peter caven was!?

Dogs lack a backline that can get them deep into the finals.

A good 5-9 ranked side

Well, they have done Ok to half time keeping the premiers to only 4 goals! That's not a back line lacking!

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
