Max might not see the year out.

Hes playing against probably the best ruckman in the league by a fair mile. He won't be the last to have their colours lowered by Xerri

Can't tackle.

Same movie as 2022, 2023, 2024.

Nothing has changed.

Goodwin and his empty promises. So much for the new game plan.

The club has been expecting the backline to win games for us.

Defenders don't kick winning scores.

Why doesn't JVR ever lead? Petracca goes down there in Q3, leads and gets a free. JVR waits at the back of the pack, waiting for the big bomb, which he never marks ( he's a two-grabber). Turner leads occasionally, but JVR.....

I think I’ve seen 3 times he’s lead and the kick has gone over his head. We can’t kick to the advantage of our forwards. On top of that it’s a lot of just bombing it high and long. Again. For years.(Forwards also not moving to dangerous places)

He's really melted down today. Got the body language of a young Jessie Hogan.

He'll come good once he's elsewhere

Im sorry… but that’s 50.

he isn’t allowed to be there

Where is the communication from the ump about the mark?

more stupidity. this time petty

we're well and truly cooked

Breaking down all over the ground, clearances out of the middle are few and far between and when we do it is a long bomb into the air, no one down forward can take a contested mark. Ball use off half back is sloppy and just average at best. We look slow and unskillful. Forward line issues have haunted us since the grand final. Long season.

Unfortunately we can't tank because Essendon owns our [censored] this season. Otherwise I would say just play the kids, start building the future.

Thank you Max, May and a couple more vets.

Not sure what to do when you clearly see no care whatsoever from some of our senior players.

Only comfort from this is knowing we’re not a snowball’s chance of challenging this year. It’s the hope that kills you.

Game over. What a pathetic disappointment.

Time for the proper rebuild.

This is going to be a 10 goal loss

Petty is such a lazy and not smart footballer. Lever isn’t overly footy smart either. Heck the whole team plays stupid football.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
