Further evidence of corruption in my opinion. Read the MFC injury report on Xavier Lindsay post Brisbane game and weigh that up with the MRO’s ‘nothing to see here’. Watch the replay of the incident and you will note that the ball was a metre above where the swinging arm made contact with Lindsay’s head/neck!

Why should we be surprised?

According to the MRO Hardwick didn’t trip Kozzie and Maynard did nothing wrong in ending Gus’s AFL career.

maynard was so innocent the MRO threatened to quit if it went to the tribunal.

So both MCInerny and Amarty are suspended. Not massive outs but leaves them a little short in their backline and forward line with Aaron Francis also concussed.

I can’t imagine if someone did that to Nick Daicos in the first few minutes of a final. They would be calling for the death penalty.

this is true. infuriating and depressing… but true. I don’t think i’ll ever get over that incident and its aftermath tbh .

Maybe not DubDee but should have been cited and a financial penalty, what if he has a late onset of concussion??

fair enough mate.

Agree to disagree. I didn’t think there was much in it. Very unlikely to cause concussion

And that wasn’t read at AFLHQ that there is a massive lack of impartiality or objectivity displayed by the MRO ever since he was appointed.

I think any high contact that sends a player to hospital overnight should be considered careless at least.

Thanks doc...wtf

Meanwhile JV7 is about to miss his third game with concussion, which earned a one game suspension.

He has had a few concussions: I hope that this isn’t going the path of Angus, who was concussed into retirement by “a football act”😡

this is an interesting one. the tribunal banned bo allen when viney wasnt concussed. hence only 1 week with lower severity. but a concussion diagnosis would have increased the severity and thus increased the ban... but the tribunal doesnt revist/has no way to revist.

This is why it shouldn’t be outcome based. Koz got weeks for a bump on Moore who was subbed off with Concussion, but was fine 5 minutes after the game.

Yes, it should first and foremost be about the action that they're trying to remove from the game, due to its potential for injury. The outcome should be a secondary consideration because the same action on different people will have different results.

Would’ve been best if they had.

That fiefdom needs a damn good shake up

The commentators (on Kayo) trying to get Mills off are a disgrace.

Jumped in the air, bumped, got Spargo high, Spargo was sent off for a HIA. That's 2-3 weeks even if Spargo did pass the HIA.

FREMANTLE captain Alex Pearce is free to play after successfully overturning his three-match ban for rough conduct at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday.

how can you get a three game suspension down to 0, i can understand if one or two games get taken off but this doesn’t make sense to me

secret code. hq wants flagmantle in finals.

Just heard Lindsay got fined for legging Bobby Hill, but I can’t seem to find any fine for some Hawthorn [censored] for legging Kozz when we played them.. absolute bull [censored] from the AFL as usual..

Surely a trip by hand where the tackle slips lower accidently (initially being legal) is not a sanction. Ridiculous.

Correct

If you were making a file of MRO inconsistencies you wouldn't lack for material. In Kozzie's case the oppo just grabbed for his ankle - not a sign of attempting a proper tackle which went wrong. In Lindsay's case a tackle slipped down and he didn't let go as he should have. Pretty clear to me which one was worse. Don't ask the MRO.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
