Rivers and others were very close to LJ

Should be good for WA boys retention

Now the q is for what?

Yep that's the question

What do we have to trade, future 1st rounder, as Essendon has our current 1st.... Otherwise maybe Kozzy for Jacko (plus change) is the only way either team can afford a deal...?

Someone wants us! Best news in a while.

They should be careful. Apparently LJ has cut off all of his previous childhood best friends.

They're probably dead [censored]

Freo fans are losing it on another popular AFL blog….I’d love to see him back but not sure I’d want to lose Kozzie as part of the deal.

That's a good thing.

Funny reading some Freo posts that it’s Kozzy and our first rounder for LJ. I think not. LJ requested the trade so they have lost leverage.

It would be great if Kozzy came out and said he wants to stay.

Don’t know how we deal in either scenario.

End of the day a direct swap is probably fair. They are both good players that go missing for many games but can impact a game every now and then.

All I get from this is that he's very easily influenced. I'm sure there's a situation where we trade for him and breaks up with his girlfriend and then all of a sudden makes amends with his family and wants to go home.

It looks like the deal is getting done though. Interesting after AFL.com.au reported he wanted to sign an extension but apparently things have escalated since. I'm not happy about it cos it means we'll lose Kozzy for nothing and get Jackson back for him who we don't really need considering Max is still the best in the comp.

Can't see Essendon agreeing to that particular deal.

LJ will allow us to extend Max for another 1-2 years though.

Could we play Max as a KPD? Maybe as an intercepting defender?

All or individually of Kozzie, Rivers & McVee > than LJ. No way do I want to lose any of them. We currently have a couple of blokes who all make great rebounding defenders, and Kozzie who is dynamite in the middle. I know we are bleeding for a forward.

LJ on the other hand, mailed in the 2nd half of '22 with us, which I was quite dirty about. Look how Danger played his heart out for Crows before jumping to Cats. I get the jumping but not choosing to offer sub par performances when we were right in the window.

Who would I offer up? Sparrow, JVR, Petty (although I would hate to lose him), Tholstrup(Personally I think this kid is going to be better than Bedford or Jordan), Salem, Laurie, Fullarton, Spargo Billings or Howes, even Fritsch. I know that seems mean, but we are not going to get something for nothing anyone else not mentioned I consider essential or would be laughed at. But the three I named i think still have great upside. LJ chooses when to go and I don't love it.

As others have said, this is good and hopefully LJ realising his old mates and some family aren’t after his best interests.

Premiership footy mates are mates forever

It could be good now because it leads him back to us, but I think it says more about the type of person he is.

The fact that he was influenced by his family and friends to move back to Perth, then within 5 months of dating this girl has been influenced to cut off all ties with almost all his friends/family in WA says that he doesn't really think for himself and we could find ourselves in a similar situation again.

And on the other side of things how well can he really play when he has all these off field issues going on in the background? I don't think they'll suddenly dissappear just because he's moved across the country.

Happy if this comes to fruition.

Not so happy if we have to give up Pickett as part of the deal.

Hopefully if this does happen we stop playing the nice guy in trade negotiations, I would love to see us show a bit of back bone. Bring out our inner Peter Bell / Adrian Dodoro..

I can't see a way this happens without Pickett being involved. We don't have anything to give them.

Peter Bell no longer involved with Freo and was responsible for brokering the deal to Freo.

Peter Bell also responsible for endorsing and hiring Justin Longmuir as Freo coach.

Justin Longmuir a Dead Man Walking as the coach of Freo.

Jacko's read the tea leaves and wants out of there back were it all begun happy days.

Kozzie your walking into a club that will soon not have a coach do you want to walk into this purple haze mess?
