He is not leaving Fremantle. That also makes it much, much harder for Freo to get Pickett.

Don’t be so sure, he’s on $800K, someone’s going to offer him $1.2 - 1.5, that’s a big big difference at the end of your career.

Tbf if we’re going by her social media activity she also has explicitly denied that they have any interest in moving.

still a long time till October. Shouldn’t rule out anything

you missed the 'first rule'

Headlines mean sfa. He wants more coin. Will Freo stump up? Not if they wont both Koz and Warner. Prob not even if it is just Koz. extra 500 per year for both making 1 million extra in their cap? Doubt it very much. Wouldnt surprise me if Freo are just quietly keen on the transaction. Koz for LJ.

Young, Serong, Fat Ruckman, Brayshaw, Bolton, overpaid caotain, fyfe, the young forwards coming up. Good luck fitting an extra mill into that!

Luke Jackson seems to change his mind more often than he changes his underwear. He has a contract until 2029. Why sign on for so long if you want to change the terms five minutes later? What exactly has he achieved in the past three years that would justify a higher salary?

The phrase "caveat emptor" springs immediately to mind every time Jackson's name comes up. Presumably any club seeking his services needs to sign him up beyond 2029 at a much higher salary. That's a clear pass for me.

Close the tread it was a con from day 1.

If he's happy to play back-up ruck for his mate Biff then good luck to him.

They ain't getting Pickett for free so we'll just wait and see. This might close the door today but it's very easy to open at season's end when we wave the 25 Cup in his face and say "Kozz is staying, why don't you come back and enjoy the threepeat"

So he’s contracted to 2029 but likely till 2031 with triggers, and now they want to add another two years on top of that???

His manager has obviously done well conning Freo but if anyone saw that comment section of the Facebook post you’d know there was a real story here and a real pull to get out of WA.

His girlfriend will come back to Victoria. Then what? Story will re emerge during trade week.

Given the direction the game is moving , Kozzy is far more valuable to us than LJ

Geez. The fourth estate are dusting off a few old trade rumours this week. What odds we get Koz to Freo again before Friday?

Makes sense. The Jackson/Darcy combo is as ineffective as Gawndy, we need something juicy for Kosi if he leaves, and Gawn is nearing the end (or is he?). If Luke wants it and who knows what goes in that guys head, but then i think this trade would be mutually beneficial for all parties.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
