I know he could have given some free kicks away because he kept holding onto roccas arm but apart from that he held Rocca to 2 kicks while collecting 11 disposals himself. Even the pies supporters were getting into rocca especially when he gave away that stupid free kick in the last quarter when he tried to jump over the pack. Well done benny! Two years in a row he has thrashed Rocca!

Comrade, Rocca is one of two official mouth-breathers in the AFL - the other being Matty Lloyd.

Someone really has to teach them to close that mouth, and give the old snout a go.

And yes, well done Benny.

Biffinator.

Dutchy is a projects man. He plays on the gorillas and does it to perfection. I couldn't believe he wasn't in the original line up when the team was picked. Was he always going to play and ND was just messing with them?

As I said before the game, Rocca was under an injury cloud, and I knew that Dutchy would play if Rocca came up alright.

Too bad Holland comprehensively smashed him.

That was as bad a game from a forward as you are ever likely to see. Could he give away anymore frees?

Absolute gold!

Benny did his job today. He was poor in parts, but overall was very handy down back ofr the dees.

No way Kingsley's strength has always been his quick leading.

Will be interesting to see if Kingsley comes into the side, correct me if im wrong but he usually did well against us when he was with Geelong.

Rocca is his bunny!

YEPP !! lol

made him look silly really didnt he..:-))))))))))))

well done Dutchy !

Rocca had one kick, one hand pass and one mark. He also gave away six free kicks. How far into the negatives is his Dream Team score going to be?

Someone mentioned -6 earlier in this thread.

Agree on both.

He did a great job. From memory either last year or the year before we had Richmond after Collingwood and he did the job on Richo as well. I'd keep him in the lineup for that reason.

He just provides a perfect contest for those big forwards, and always seems to spoil their marks one way or another. And without strong contested marking, what use is a big gorilla forward?

Dutchy was good again today. Killed Rocca the lumbering deadsh*t. Holland managed 11 disposals, while Rocca had 1 kick, 1 handball, and 7 frees against. FANTASTIC STATS FOR BIG BOOFHEAD ROCCA THERE HAHAHA

I agree Hards. Keep him in to battle against his old teammate Richo. Should provide a good contest.

Well that's an interesting point. Look at this picture from the Herald-Sun. I think the umpire said on at least two occasions: "you're both holding each other". Perhaps he was right.

PS: Is Benny ripped or what? :)

Yep it was a mutual hold, in the same way Carroll and Fraser (I hate that man with a passion!) wrestled in the goal square, and Fraser marked the ball. The ump let it go because both were holding on.

Rocca was well and truly demolished by the great Benny Holland, and every single free-kick he gave away was there.

They highlighted them all on Footy Classifides, and apart from the Robbo one that should have been paid, they were all right according to the new rules. Whether we agree with it or not, the umpires were just following the guidelines.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
