It was in regards to your comment about Kozzie's situation turning out fine - it may but that is yet to be proven considering the commentary around him wanting to move west.

    Thought the same but I don't mind it as he's backing himself to take a step up into bigger dollars on his contract after this one. Unfortunately my guess is that it won't be with us.

    McVee was very close to signing for 2 years in October/November. He opted to wait in an attempt to extract contract value in the early rounds. The club have upped their offer despite his injury which is an awesome show of faith. Was offered 4 years but has settled for 2 which was always his preference.

    he could be backing himself but also with Tasmania supposedly coming into the league in 2028 it makes sense for some players to renew up until 2027 because;

    1. They can use the new team as leverage

    2. They could potentially go to the new team and get a signing on bonus (which is a floated possibility).

    Is it time to start worry about him not signing a contract yet? Anybody got any intel? @Dannyz ?

    Given WC low ladder position we could lose him for very little at the end of the season if he doesn’t sign up.

    After the mega contracts we've given out, I'd hope this isn't a 'we'll see what's left for you Judd' situation.

    I’m hoping we’re looking at who can we use to get the picks we need to attract some top end talent. Of course I want McVee to stay but if he’s keen to explore going home let’s use that to our advantage in attracting a ready to go replacement like Bergman.

    I get what you’re but think we would lose out massively if Judd went to WC. Should they wish they can play hardball and pick him up in the PSD.

    He’s probably not rated as highly as he should be by people outside the club either.

    Bergman has his pick of clubs in Vic and Cal has reported he’s been offered a 7/8 contract by port.

    The net cost of changing Judd for Bergman would be way too much imo both in terms of draft capital and contract terms.

    If he wants to go and doesn’t sign a contract then there’s not a lot we can do. But given our current position we really can’t afford to lose out on trades.

    or we could package him and jvr for one of the highest rated players in the comp this year who wants to come home, solves our key forward issue aswell. also solves the issue of them two leaving in the future

    Was told he agreed to a new deal about a month ago with some finer details to be ironed out.

    I expected an announcement by now. As far as I know, nothing has changed. Judd is happy.

    don’t get me wrong judd is great and i’d love for him to stay but business is business and we need a key forward asap he is more then capable of doing that until max pulls the pin. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season.       Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
