Channel 10 also showed the interview and there was a bit that referred to the "cleaning out the locker" thing which gave so much shade to McClure. Clarry seemed very bemused that cleaning out his locker, which players do every year, made headlines.

Which Clarry is brilliant at.

People on Demonland told me Clarry was never considered for a trade and it was just a media beat up.

Yeah spot on.  Looks like Tom Morris and Sam McClure were right all along

Yeah it was a good watch!

As an aside, how much better is AFL 360 now that ranting buffoon Robbo is gone!  👍

So much better. At least Gaz is a clear talker & doesn't yell.

N another note I've given up on classified. Refuse to watch with McClure as host & won't watch the other one Tuesday night with McGuire, morris & hird. Although I see Rory Sloane is on there to.

You’re absolutely right. Clayton now plays for Geelong, they nailed it!

And those of us who said Geelong and Clayton + management were driving the trade but it would never happen as Lamb, Richo, Green and Goody all put it to bed immediately, how wrong we were!

It’s going to be hell to see him in the hoops this year but at least we have that new very similar looking number 13 who had 3 goals and 28 disposals and looks alright! 🙄🙄🙄

He said he's building every week but not fully back to his best.  If 28 and 3 with 11 clearances is 'building' then I'm looking forward to seeing him back to his best.

Without downplaying his BOG performance last week I’d suggest he may be referring to some of his defensive efforts.

The Shai Bolton example when we conceded a goal with 10 seconds left before quarter time and the video showed Oliver in no man’s land.

Otherwise very exciting signs ahead!

Did they ever say he was going to be traded to Geelong? They said we put him on the trade table and he was open to it which Oliver confirmed.

Sloane and hird were very substandard media performers. Wont last. And Eddie hogs the mike.

Past its use by date years ago and ch9 have to pretend they give a rats a out afl

And the Monday night show is bat [censored] boring. Funny how they opened taking another swipe at Melbournes off season dramas. Not a single mention of Sayers … They really must have some gears to grind with the Dees.

And Oliver and Tracca and Kossy are still here, for 2025 at least.  So who has left ?  This year at least  we have IMV with max, 4 of the top 15 players in AFL!!

Eddie is unwatchable on this show

He comes across as being everyone best mate, but it’s all based around The Filth

Is he actually watchable, or listenable, on any show?

No. But it’s getting worse

Now that he is not a President he can say whatever he likes.
His idea for Round Zero is woeful

Funny but by the end of 2024 I only watched the Front Bar. 😁👍

Yes, they did. Here’s Tom Morris saying Clayton is still live to be going to Geelong AFTER Richo Tim Lamb AND Brad Green all put it to bed. McClure did the same thing. Damien Barrett went even harder and said it would definitely happen on the last day. How right they were!

Morris didn't say Oliver was leaving in that video.

I know. He says “the Oliver trade is still live” despite every senior MFC figure saying it wasn’t. It’s also the easiest clip to google, there are many more but frankly I’m not wasting my time. He’s an MFC player. Those of us who said the MFC wasn’t trading him because we believed Lamb Richo and Green were right. Live in a fantasy where he went to Geelong if you want. I made a joke, sue me, I’m off to a more relevant thread to trawl for info on JVR’s back.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
