I have no idea but he’s rising and due diligence being done by a few clubs and several keen. We have interviewed him recently 

I suspect we'll do a split with 9 and take 3 picks within 20 or so. Richmond and GWS potential trading partners on draft night.

We have 4 senior spots to fill, we could sign a delisted fa and hold one over for an ssp selection. But given how lauded this draft is in its evenness and depth, I dare say we want one more bite at a top 20-30 pick if possible.

Richmonds 14 and the 23 they get from GC or WCE 12 and 26 or even 2 of GWS picks. Wouldn't want to drop too far down the order but there is some viable options

He’s an unusual looking player, somewhat a throw back style with a big strong frame, footy smarts but perhaps seems raw at the same time? The wafl seniors stats in particular are hard to ignore. He reminds me of James Leake last year who was another mid/forward bolter type. I can see him going early if a side thinks he fills a specific role.

Just watched the highlights package of Hamish Davis in the WAFL final, where he had 21 Disposals and kicked 4 goals. He's certainly not a polished footballer. There's nothing classy about him, and his kicking style reminds me of Warren Dean. But he obviously knows how to find the footy. Hard to compare him to any current AFL player.

I would prefer the Demons keep both picks #5 and #9.

 

But if GWS offered us picks #15 and #16 and Wade Dersksen for pick #9 would we take it?

I'd be staggered if we didn't jump on that. That would be a dream.

I'd take 15 and 16 for 9 without WD. He would be the icing on the cake. It'd mean cutting Hore and possibly Tomlinson.

Tim Lamb said the Demons are open to anything.

I am sure we will get a few approaches for pick #9.

A lot will also depend upon if Jake Stringer is traded from Essendon to GWS.

If that happens...it leaves the door slightly ajar for a last minute play for Wade Derksen. But GWS need to come to us with an attractive offer.

Picks #15 and #16 as well as Wade Derksen could get it done.

Otherwise, the Demons might get offers from Richmond once they receive picks from Fremantle for Shai Bolton.

Tomorrow will be a very interesting day!

He’s an ultimate professional in preparation and discipline to get the best out of himself, in a similar fashion to Woey Snr and the Pendlebury types.  Comes from good stock Grandfather George Hampson is a legend in WAFL and uncle Damian was drafted by Carlton in the 90s

We want the player GWS want cup keep him it’s up to us to pry him out of their Club.

After listening to Tim Lamb yesterday I thought the above would be a good option but I had a look at Dave’s phantom draft on BigFooty. I don’t think the draft will pan out as he has it but it’s starting to get a bit skinny for too end talent from GWS picks onwards. 
Still good players there- just a lot less options.

Reading that we tried for lower picks first rather than 9, I suspect our target would have been achieved at 13 or 14 and we just so happen to have 9 now. I like Hotton. Given his injuries this year have him dropping but end of last year he was in the conversation for pick one. Great overhead and (from the highlights stuff) well weighted delivery inside 50. Will be a mid by 21 but can play a good role until clarry/trac start to decline

also talk of still being open to offers, might be able to help freo save face and trade 9 to 11 to appease Richmond (9 and 18 can be seen as a negotiation win because it’s more than the starting point) and get something on the back end worth our while. 

Any chance we try and deal with Richmond? Pick 9 for 11 and 20 or similar? Probably not the best value for them.

I don’t see their current numbers lining up but Port’s 13 is apparently on the market for either Sydney’s 19 and 22 or Richmond’s 18/20 and 23/24

9 for 13 and 24 is a deal I’d do. Richmond would be effectively amalgamating 18,23 and 24 in to 9 though which might be too much.

 

I imagine this stuff can only really happen on draft night if there ae players wanted by other clubs that will be picked at 9 or just after and we don't want those players?  The way people talk, the draft seems so deep that it would make sense to split it.  But ultimately it will probably come down to who JT rates and how that compares to the clubs with picks in the 10-15 range.

That would make the trade deal with the Bombers look ridiculous for us. We could have kept all those picks for what is essentially our F1 & P28 for 13 and 24.

We could have bundled all those later picks and got another 2nd rounder from a club needing points.

The teams needing points were Brisbane (dealt 20 to Richmond, best they had was 32), GC (in big deals with Pies and Richmond that they wouldn’t want to have jeopardised) and Essendon, who we dealt with!

F1 and 40, 65 for 13

28 and 54 for 24

The other option was keep 28 and bundle to 32 but then we aren’t getting a pick inside 13 for our first rounder. 

There’s nothing wrong with folding 9 back down a bit if that’s how the draft falls. The eagles just split 3 for 12, it’s reasonable to move 9 somewhere towards 15.

That's fantastic but I am scratching my head re next years picks? I assume he means tow first rounders next year?
