It may be click bait but not sure we should dismiss this.

A poster who is usually well informed (can't remember who) mentioned in a training thread that Goodwin was annoyed last year at a recruiter closely watching a particular player.  That club got the player's trade request on a 7yr, multi million $ deal.

I guessed his reference was to Kozzie.  The club and his manager shut it down pretty quickly.

But, I feel it is only a matter of time.

If he helps win another flag he's done his job and I'd wish him well - but I wouldn't like it.

Fremantle Dockers in box seat to land homesick Melbourne Demons star Kysaiah Pickett after 2025 season

Sorry to be 'that person', just wondering if anyone without pay wall can post what this is about? I assume it'll be click-bait, but interested if anything new here or just re-hashed manure?

I hope we heavily into Andy Brayshaw.

There is no doubt that Kozzie would like to play his footy in WA and that Freo are aware of this. A trade request was close this year so I’d said it’s likely next year.

Kozzie is super close with Roy George. They’re essentially related so it will be interesting to see if his presence at the club helps.

We had some good conversations with him but he’s told us that he’s happy in Perth and will be re-signing with Freo.

Kossie and Shai Bolton would be some combo!

Kozzie loves it here, He's not going anywhere.

Close thread.

Perhaps we could trade him for Jackson? He seems pretty good

Have heard we will also need to include his Mum on that deal to set her up in Melbourne

We need list spot for George but sadly atm it doesn't look likely for 2025.

With life getting busier and busier these days it’s easier to pass on going to the footy every week. One of the reasons I like to go these days is my kids. They love Koz. As do I.

But I am realistic. I’ve heard from multiple great sources that it’s unlikely he’ll be a one-club player.

I am hoping to be wrong on that front.

Football is a business. Let's try to win another flag or 2 before he leaves

Who are we willing to sacrifice to injury?

It will sell papers in the west.  They cant land him and the dodger from the swans.  Would take 3 first rounders.

Also, he has NO interest in going home, with his partner and her family from Melb (as i understand it)….

So.. F off click baiters

Spot on. Kozzie and his partner Ardu are fully settled in Melb. End of story 👍🏽

Kozzie hasn’t seen that revolting imaginary back page but he laughed when I told him about it and said it’s bs and to pay no attention to it. He and Ardu and Bellanie ain’t goin’ nowhere!

He would be hard to replace in the forward line, that's for sure

Let’s not freak out about this saga again!!! Trac wants out, Clarry wants out, Kozzie wants out.

Hope the club shuts it all out, we really need 2025 to become a good footy club and organisation again & the media remembers there’s 18 clubs in the competition

Before Kozzie we had Davey, before him we had the Wiz.

There’s always someone coming through the ranks.

Rounds 1, 2 and 3 could provide a bit of an answer on what life will look like post Kozzie. One tough game and two winnables on paper.

He's missed 8 games in his career and we're 4-4 in those results, but 1-3 in the last 4 games he's missed through suspension.

Weirdly out of the 8 games he's missed, Brisbane and Sydney have been the beneficiaries of 5 of those.

Maybe Kozzie doesn't like travel.....

Why and where was it  said that KOZ stated he wants to play in WA. I have read that if a team came out of the Northern Territory he would want to play there but then I’m guessing most Aboriginal players would be keen to play in that team. I have however read in reputable articles (The Age for one) that he is very happy here and has interests outside of footy in Melb …

If a suitable trade could’ve been facilitated during the 2024 Trade Period, he wouldn’t be playing for Melbourne in 2025. Last year was the closest this has been to fruition and it was instigated by the player.

It’s not a matter of ‘if’ with Pickett, it’s ‘when’.

I too think he'll end up in the West, but he'll do so on our terms.

2027 gives Melbourne the right sort of leverage to demand good compensation.  If that's not possible at the end of 2025 then he stays and it can be revisited at the end of 2026.  It's pretty simple.

Did his manager say this?

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
