Anything about the 'they' remark? Because I can tell you, it will cause a furore.

That one hit me immediately. Poorly chosen wording perhaps, potentially suggesting interstate players get homesick, but given she was getting increasingly rattled at the time, I'm not sure that was the case.

Ok so I think we all agree - Peter Jackson should replace Pert. Who are we going to get to replace Roffey?

Afterall, we can't spill the board without having a solution up our sleeves 😜

ill do it. i have no money, dont enjoy leadership, have not much in the way of credentials but ill do a better job

I agree with him:

Just as bad….

Yeah agree totally. There’s a lot wrong with our football club at the moment.

This was a disastrous interview.

If I was an opposition player or manager of an opposition player I would not want to come to this rabble or advise my client to come to this rabble.

This club is staring into the face of oblivion.

Paul Hopgood, or potentially Steven Smith if he's still interested would be my picks.

Paul Hopgood a great call -  company CEO -  great people skills -  unified the past players association

Yes yes yes to Steven Smith. Ex player, ex-MCC president, super super smart and best of all.... competent.

Absolute train wreck… she claims we love Trac and throw our arms around him, yet not talking to his family!! She needs to understand what a marquee player is.
Talks about understanding the issues, but hasn’t spoke to Christian.
She 100% has to go. She is a scar on the club.

We won a flag on the back of Peter Jackson and Paul Roos - they turned us into a destination club. Enough smarts in the coaching box (Yze) to help Goodwin get over the line, and the best fitness/high performance bloke in the land (?world) in Burgess.

We now have amateur hour at the top (mistaking corporate speak for leadership), coaching stagnation, and serious concerns about fitness/high performance.

Turn back the clock.

How did we let it fall so fast, so quickly?

I think this is two fold- not being in constant contact with Trac and his folks during the first few weeks and since word has come out that he is unhappy is unacceptable from our leader.
But to go on live radio radio when the Trac story is the main topic of discussion and not having the intelligence to think that you

1- should speak to the Trac beforehand

2- know that you would be asked if you’ve spoken to him.
shows she has NFI what she’s doing.

Bye Bye Kate

I have not heard a more underprepared interview. She just does not have the skills or EQ

That interview was worse than listening to a middle manager at my work bore everyone to tears in a branch meeting...empty words

Not even a marquee player- any player or staff that ends up in ICU due to a work related incident should have the club leader get in touch and offer support. That’s what a good culture is all about. Offering support in times of need.
God I’m angry.

Stupid to use 'they' when you are talking specifically about an indigenous player. Think it was just ineptitude, but you can bet a big deal will be made of it. Just another element of what was a PR calamity

Injury aside, she talks up how she hears from families about a young kid re-signing and how they love the club, yet has barely spoken to the family of our highest paid player… a guy who is extremely family oriented.. it’s management 101

I don't like her, but it's not her fault the players continually dish up rubbish and lack of effort on field.

Thats on the coach, the same coach who she and the board approved a 2 year extension to before another straight sets finals exit last year.

So what you're saying is, Goodwin and Roffey must go?

Board member with zero EQ. Who'd have thunk it? 🤷‍♂️

Worst thing is these board-types are completely unaware. She's probably high-fiving back at the office now for a job well done. Funnily enough on her Victoria University page, it says: "Kate is also a sought-after media and public speaker". lol

Anything is possible Luci

An external Review is needed before Trade Week

I'm beginning to wonder if our doctors were in touch with his family or hospital medical staff while he was in ICU.  If so they would have known Christian nearly died on the operating table.

I hope to God that info somehow made it to our doctors, to our player welfare staff and to Roffey.

I hope it was just an oversight her not saying that other senior people made contact with the family during that critical period.

I would be very angry if that was my son and no one bothered to check in.

Continually? We won and flag and backed it up with two top 4 finishes.
We are hardly the worst performing club out there. Only in off field matters we are.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
