The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced our strategy is Langford (or Jagga if Langford is gone) and Hynes. Getting another pick inside 10, means we can pretty much guarantee we'll get Hynes, but if another guy slides that we love, we'll go him first.

There are quite a few guys I'd be happy to take at 5, but Langfords the one that fills me with the most dread that if he's available and we pass it will bite us big time.

Looks to be one of those special players that just does everything right, and conveniently falls to 5 as there are other players with more flashy traits that see them go higher.

That's why I reckon Adelaide will have a long hard look at him, which is a bit of a worry.

... And in 3 years they end up giving us Pick 10 and a Future 1st for Homesick-Draper? :mad:

The likes of Smith and FOS are too vanilla without any special traits to separate them from the pack.

Lalor has his powerful lead up craft, Draper his burst from stoppages and Langford his overhead game. Even Tauru I’d consider as a reach for a top 5 pick as he doesn’t have any huge weapons as a third/intercept defender.

I’m very comfortable with any of Smith, Langford or FOS at our first pick.

All have different strengths and weaknesses, so can’t see us losing on this one.

Will be interesting to see who we go at pick 9 and if we did go Langford it could be great to pair him up with his mate Hynes

Looking more and more like the Blues will take Draper, and the Crom will choose Langford or Smith leaving us with one of Smith, Tauru or O'Sullivan at pick 5.

Cal Twomey has the Demons taking Harvey Langford in his Phantom Draft.

I guess we shall wait and see if this is correct or not...???

As opposed to doing what exactly?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
