Best defence would be that he was trying to kick the ball off the ground.

I’m not convinced he did a lot wrong. Bumps are unavoidable when playing are competing for a loose ball. But the AFL will punish him on the result.Ā

Best defence would be that Kozi never goes to ground and always keeps his feet. Ablett Jr was the only other player I’ve seen do this, but Kozi does it even more so.Ā

I can handle losing last night as we had a ton out (as they did too).

What I can’t handle is the knowledge all summer that our most talented player with the biggest point of difference will be making his season debut as late as Gather round under the concussion climate that we now live under.

We can’t possibly go unscathed against that mob and this particular player struggles with education when it comes to high contact and footballing acts that are obsolete, or at least putting himself in these vulnerable MRO positions.

I’m sure this will go as far as the appeals, so fingers crossed we get on the right side.

In the slow mo freeze frame before the hit Moore is standing up and any bump if there was one would be be to Moore’s waist. When Moore drops in the last second Kozzie’s feet are moved and he falls hitting Moore with his arm.

Moore caused this but we know what will happen.

Thanks Redleg. Ā  Best description of the episode yet. Ā
Ā

Had this involved Daicos, Cripps, Cameron there would be absolutely nothing to see, in fact they would have earned a free kick for low contact.Ā

I voted but there was no option for

getting 3 weeks

Upheld on appealĀ

Overturned by TribunalĀ

Not so sure about that. We wouldn’t make a good cricket team. We rarely appeal.

Needs to stop letting the team down with these silly incidentsĀ

Don’t think it’s fair to paint Kozzy with this brush this time around. Was doing what every player should be doing in those circumstances- engage your opponent, get them off balance and win the ball. Only difference here is that Moore disappears through the floor after Kozzy had moved to engage Moore. Once he’d committed to engaging Moore with his momentum, he can’t shift it.Ā

This was very different from any of his priors. Ā  Ā Moore contributed 100% to this one. Ā

He's stuffed because rightly or wrongly that's where tribunal decisions are heading, but if not the collective melt of Pies fans will be tremendous.

At this stage, over 70% of respondents to the poll think he will be suspended.

I don't think it's the bump as such that's the problem.Ā  Where Kozzy will be in trouble is the late action of raising his arm and hitting Moore in the head.Ā  I'll be pleasantly surprised if he gets off.

A crucial year for Goodwin next year and he’s already behind the 8 ball before he’s had a chance to even review the season - Ā with Kozzie missing the first 3-4 weeks.

Agree, I'm not sure why he had to raise the elbow. That's the bit I didn't realise what he did until I saw it replayed.

It just doesn't help us or him being suspended again. In face it's getting a little tiresomeĀ

I hope the club asks for the medical report from the Pies. Curious that Moore was ok to continue to play before mysteriously being subbed out when the game was basically all one way traffic.Ā
Sometimes stinks.Ā

I will be surprised if he gets off too because it is Kossie.

But I don't see why lifting your arm to protect your ribs and shoulder is dirty. We have just lost a player for the season to a spleen injury!

Raising your elbow is dirty, but covering your ribs is not.

In addition to Moore going to ground in an unusual way (sliding on his knees), the other two things in Kossie's defence are that 1) he tries to soccer the ball off the ground; and 2) he does not look at Moore.

Should get off, but won't. Sadly.Ā  Meanwhile Maynard who deliberately clobbered a player who will never play again as a result and had zero penalty, had the audacity to take issue with Kozzie.Ā  Makes me sick.

Clear and simple - Moore dropped to his knees thereby making contact unavoidable.

Yep, suspend Moore!Ā

Yeah you’d have to wonder if they would’ve been so conservative if they had a game next week, as Moore would’ve copped the 12 day rule.

'They had a ton out'? DeGoey and Mihocek. Mitchell is cooked and McStay is bang average.Ā  Who else? We had 5 AA superstars missing,Ā  Windsor,Sparrow and Spargo. That's forgetting about Brayshaw and Smith who weren't able to replace. Sorry, no comparison.Ā

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking?Ā I mean by ā€œtheyā€ the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack.Ā Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winningĀ 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
