Only thing is, has a full pre-season to be ready again.

This night doesn't want to end.

Or a knee.

I can think of three instances over the last 4 or 5 years where play has been stopped and Melbourne has featured in all of them.

WCE v Dees in 2021, BL v Dees 2023, and now I believe.

We always cop the lightning game

Hopefully it has broken some sort of curse.

The only thing I can take out of tonight.

I'am starting to grow very tired of the regime right at the top from Roffey, Pert, Richardson and Goodwin.

"Play the youngsters"-  How about we do it next year in key defence too?

TMAC should retire and let a kid come through. dont care how good he's been, last few weeks have been pretty poor. Play Petty or Turner

Trade Salem, soft and overated the last couple of years.

What a sad, embarrassing way to end the season. Barely fired a shot.

I'll probably cop flack for this but I think we should seriously entertain the idea of trading Fritsch.

I'm 100% with you. Big sook who likes to get the ball in the open by himself. Has skills but no gumption at all. Let the scribes have a go at both of us.

I just hope our defence holds up with two key defenders using walking frames

They spread so much better than we do. They spread like butter left out on the bench on a warm day. We're butter coming straight out of the fridge.

And they use a knife. We use our fingers then try to mark the ball or miss tackles.

[censored] me I played in lighting storms in under 12’s. Play on FFS

In the extremely rare instance of a lighting strike it would hit the top of the stadium or the goal posts

Whilst he is soft he has talent though, but the reality is he's a third forward not a main guy, if you can improve the forward line he will be more dangerous.

I just don't think we are in a position with the list to lose both Tomlinson and TMac.

Even if TMac is only depth next year. We need quality tall position players.

There is plenty of other players in front of the exit queue.

Plus he's been excellent tonight in a depleted backline

T-Mac can hold his head up tonight and most of the season.

Thommo is depth at best at this point and the ability to step up to AFL level and have an impact may have gone past him now.

Call it off now, give them the points and we'll be able to hear them whinge because they were robbed of a chance of a 100 point win. Lovely.

I hope Crisp does his hamstring of the bone or a knee after the lightning.

Doesn't deserve Jimmy's record the scumbag.

Why? He has been a good player for a long time. Maybe not as good as Jimma but give him a break he has kept at it. Stop having a go at these players who have performed consistently for a long time without injuries.

Surely the lightning would find the highest point, in which case Max would be in grave danger.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
