On second thought I think this would mean effectively a anb for McAdam swap , yuk

Yep. He was worth a 3rd rounder at best.

ANB is a dependable asset to any team with the runs on the board, premiership player and was top 3 in our BnF.

Crows get ANB and MFC pick 51

Dees get Crows pick 25 and 42

that’s fair.

unfortunately, probably the best we can hope for

He was a pick 6 and has kicked 70 goals in 56 games. Will only get better.

Not sure if he passes the no DH policy, but back ourselves to keep his feet on the ground.

yes our no DH policy has worked a treat !!

Rachele is highly unlikely.  Not sure he’s right but clearly a talent.
We need Sam McClure or Damo or Ralphy or Robbo or Sammy Edmund or Kane or Lloyd to say Rachele is homesick and wants out and has lost the support of teammates or whatever they conjour up !!!

Can the Crows even give us back our pick under the current trading rules? Also, most of our own fans struggle to identify what ANB actually does during a game. He may be a great role player, but that's under Goodwin's system, and I doubt he would even get a start at Port. I think a third-rounder is a more realistic expectation, if you reflect back on what we've traded in over the years for an early-to-mid second.

Neal-Bullen likely to finish 6th-8th in our B&F. Or could place higher in our strange MFC voting. He’s super fit. Played 23 games this year. Played 96 out of 97 games in last 4 years. Regular in a top team.

My call

Crows get ANB and MFC pick 51

Dees get Crows pick 25 and 42

that’s fair.

I would take a punt on Curtin. Would be fair. ANB has elite stats this year. Pick 25 is way too low.

What does 'officially nominated' mean, particularly in the same sentence as 'preferred'? And how does a reporter become the ('official'?) announcer?

Disappointed to lose Nibbler, he was a good servant of the club amd I wish him well in the future. However Tim Lamb’s job is to get the best deal for Melbourne. If that deal is with the Power then so be it. We are under no obligation to get him to the Crows.

Well we are if Port aren't really interested, but I don't know that

Seriously he is highly rate and his tackling is elite this year. Probably the hardest working forward. Is a big lose.

i'd say in terms of workrate the only player we have who rivals him is ed langdon, although arguably gawn's is also enormous but you just don't think about the great man like you do a 'small'

anb is a huge loss and a massive gain for the crom

another reason to loathe them

Can anyone confirm if Adelaide are actually allowed to trade us back pick 25?

So long as it’s not in the same trading period, i think it’s above board

This was the best I could find pertaining to the rules. It's astonishing (but actually not) how difficult it is access the official rules of our multi-billion dollar sport, and how vaguely they are written.

9.7 Further Exchange of Draft Selection
(a) A Club may exchange a Draft selection which it has received from another Club,
provided that the selection is not traded directly back to that Club.

My understanding is that rule applies in the same trade period, we should be okay to receive it back this year

Rather take a punt on  player swap if 25 is the best we can get.

All the best to Nibbler. He had is early critics, including me, because of his fumbles. However, he kept working tenaciously to improve his game and he became a very valuable member of the team. Can't ask for more than that.

'Official' from SEN? Hmmm...

'Official' from the Club, on the other hand...

It 100% has to do with whatever is going on. It’s all to do with timing.

You are entitled to your opinion G not so great but you are wrong. Nibbla has requested this prior to other matters. and if you read his request it is perfectly clear that he is taking his family back to SA after a wonderful decade of Club loyalty and service.

Thank you Nibbla you have been a great Demon and still are. All the best yo you and your family.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
