It's amazing how many posters on here quickly default to the worst case scenario.

Might be a prudent time to remind everyone that Petty, Windsor, Tholstrup, Tuner, Langdon (have I missed anyone?), have recommitted to the club this year

The Eeyores are all feeling giddy inside at the moment.

Type of scenario that scares about Kozzie Pickett as well.

Losing Nibbler changes a lot; his leadership, footy smarts and onfield contribution is a huge loss which start to tip my opinion from top up to rebuild.

Rebuild top to bottom, for sure ... this has been a gut reaction from '23 - now. Alex is a great player and has worked his guts out for the Club, but family comes first.

ANBs neat dribble kick out to the right to Sparrow shortly after the start of the GF21 final quarter, ending with a Ben Brown goal, is one of my favourite football memories.

Disappointing. He's one who always looks like he's up for the contest. Has improved constantly over the course of his career. The exact type of player who we need leading the club culture.

So it’s ok with the WA boys returning mid contract for family reasons?

Big loss in all those aspects if this goes ahead.  The experience factor as well.

A hard act to replace.

2024... the year that keeps on giving.

I know this is a first world problem, but I will shed a tear seeing ANB wearing different colours next year.  Thanks for everything ANB!  Go well and please keep a soft spot for our beloved Dees.

If people catastrophise in their personal lives like they do on this this site they have my deepest sympathy. Fair dinkum!

Heart and soul player hard to replace.

If we were to lose him I'd say unless we get Houston in the deal you must stay.

Something is not right at the club right now. Constant leaks are not something that just happen, it is a sign that not everyone is on the same page on and off the field. You have to question the motive that they had to leak this news THIS WEEK.

There will be people happy to say all is well at the club but this is certainly a blip and trust is being breached by a rat in the ranks.

One of the issues this club needs to resolve is this right here.

Also fixing the footy stuff too. That's number one.

But leaks are definitely up there.

Like a leaky boat.

I can't recall many other clubs of late that leak so badly and consistently.

Find the rat and exterminate pls MFC!

I’m very upset to hear this. ANB is one of my favourites and he will be a hard act to replace.

i just didn’t  see this coming ….😫

Gutted to be losing Nibbler, but that certainly gives us something to offer Port for Houston.

That’s a massive kick in the guts for the team. He’s so important to how we play. Sheesh, that’s some really bad news.

These are the type of things that happen to teams not in premiership contention. No way Nibbler does this 4 years ago. I am not doubting the reason is genuine, just that he wouldn’t leave if we were a chance to win a flag next year

Nek minnut….

does it [censored] you when a player does that and then they get delisted?

ANB would be a family first man. i respect that.

I think he’ll always have a soft spot for us. He’s not leaving on a bad note. His sole reason for leaving is to be close to his family and unfortunately that means leaving our club and joining a new one.

It will be hard to see him in different colours. Hell, I still can’t look at Jayden in those colours without feeling sad. But Nibs has made this decision and we should back him all the way. He’ll be sorely missed, very popular among the boys, friends with all of them. ☹️

Four years ago we told him to look for a new home.

From a personal perspective, I am saddened as he is massively respected by the players and a super nice bloke as well. Always very giving of his time and just an upstanding young man.

Hire Plugger as goal kicking forward coach?

Gotta disagree with you on this one. All things being equal, if this was four years ago, he would take his partner and baby girl back home regardless of how the club was going. You said yourself that “ANB would be a family first man.” And he is.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
