Rebuild top to bottom, for sure ... this has been a gut reaction from '23 - now. Alex is a great player and has worked his guts out for the Club, but family comes first. Quote

J Peterman 5 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 ANBs neat dribble kick out to the right to Sparrow shortly after the start of the GF21 final quarter, ending with a Ben Brown goal, is one of my favourite football memories. 3 1 Quote
rufus 1,162 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Disappointing. He's one who always looks like he's up for the contest. Has improved constantly over the course of his career. The exact type of player who we need leading the club culture. 1 Quote
KLV 1,768 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 So it’s ok with the WA boys returning mid contract for family reasons? Quote

Big loss in all those aspects if this goes ahead. The experience factor as well. A hard act to replace. 2024... the year that keeps on giving. Quote
Deebymistake 790 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 I know this is a first world problem, but I will shed a tear seeing ANB wearing different colours next year. Thanks for everything ANB! Go well and please keep a soft spot for our beloved Dees. 4 Quote

WERRIDEE 5,638 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 (edited) Heart and soul player hard to replace. If we were to lose him I'd say unless we get Houston in the deal you must stay. Edited August 13, 2024 by WERRIDEE Quote

Constant leaks are not something that just happen, it is a sign that not everyone is on the same page on and off the field. You have to question the motive that they had to leak this news THIS WEEK. There will be people happy to say all is well at the club but this is certainly a blip and trust is being breached by a rat in the ranks. 51 minutes ago, Demonland said: One of the issues this club needs to resolve is this right here. Also fixing the footy stuff too. That's number one. But leaks are definitely up there. Like a leaky boat. I can't recall many other clubs of late that leak so badly and consistently. Find the rat and exterminate pls MFC! 1 Quote
jane02 3,795 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 I’m very upset to hear this. ANB is one of my favourites and he will be a hard act to replace. i just didn’t see this coming ….😫 2 3 Quote

Roost it far 10,135 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 That’s a massive kick in the guts for the team. He’s so important to how we play. Sheesh, that’s some really bad news. 2 Quote
DubDee 26,674 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 These are the type of things that happen to teams not in premiership contention. No way Nibbler does this 4 years ago. I am not doubting the reason is genuine, just that he wouldn’t leave if we were a chance to win a flag next year Brace yourselves Demon fans 2 Quote

Thanks for everything ANB! Go well and please keep a soft spot for our beloved Dees. I think he’ll always have a soft spot for us. He’s not leaving on a bad note. His sole reason for leaving is to be close to his family and unfortunately that means leaving our club and joining a new one. It will be hard to see him in different colours. Hell, I still can’t look at Jayden in those colours without feeling sad. But Nibs has made this decision and we should back him all the way. He’ll be sorely missed, very popular among the boys, friends with all of them. ☹️ Quote

From a personal perspective, I am saddened as he is massively respected by the players and a super nice bloke as well. Always very giving of his time and just an upstanding young man. 4 Quote

All things being equal, if this was four years ago, he would take his partner and baby girl back home regardless of how the club was going. You said yourself that “ANB would be a family first man.” And he is. Quote
