Well I don’t know because maybe she hasn’t started. We poached her from the Pies, so perhaps she has a contractual obligation to fulfill there until the end of the season. 

Either way, the club has for years, thru poor mismanagement of brand communication, allowed the media to drive this narrative around our club. We should be controlling what goes out and what is said about us in the media. Not the other way around. 

I’ve been a brand and product manager for over 15 years and I can tell you categorically, that making a product look good, is far more important than the product itself actually being good. Perception is everything.

IMO, comms should go through the club as a matter of professionalism and standard process.

I'm a film producer and I'm constantly checking in with my crew, making sure they're all feeling fine with everything. It's process and good communication, the latter this situation is apparently greatly lacking.

As a matter of good communication, the FD should have made it clear that Trac would be going on extended leave, and he had the blessing of the club after a real life and death ordeal.

But on the other hand, it's ridiculous to think that Trac wouldn't reach out to the players and say something.

I would be staggered if this didn't happen, the players would also be in multiple group chats and have constant communication. I would speculate that the reality is closer to, the players are frustrated with their club being dragged through the mud by a player having some sort of tantrum, and that players general attitude being horrible, and it's been spun to make it sound like the club is again dysfunctional and the player is a victim.

He probably did. He probably said he needs to take a break, but then spent the entire time actually working on his personal social media content, while also perhaps continuing to complain about the standards and behaviors inside the club. Maybe players didn’t like that. 

There is definitely more to this than just Trac going to Noosa and the players being annoyed that they weren’t allowed to go on holidays too. 
Compare and contrast with Langdon going to his sister’s wedding. Not sure there would be much angst there. 
 

Either way, good people management would see this tension rising and put an immediate stop to it via correct mediation process. Not let it fester and boil over.

That is 100% my take. It’s farcical that they aren’t talking. This whole situation is really doing my head in. 
 

Does he want to leave because :

1) The way the club treated him during his injury?

2) Some insensitivity post issue - ie butchered Comms

3) Style of play , standards , training facilities 

4) Wants a bigger club . Not necessarily a more on field successful one but a bigger one to improve his brand.

There's a been a failure of communication on both sides. Happens all the time in life. I don't think that's the root cause of this problem though.

He's a senior player with a lot of influence. He may be very professional in his training standards and no doubt gives 100% on the field, but it doesn't look like he's invested in the club as much as we'd like him to be. Easiest thing in the world to do is spit the dummy when things get rough. Start complaining about others. start complaining about the organisation. That's not leadership. That's just blaming. There are high performing high maintenance people in every organisation. They can be exhausting to deal with. A classic tactic they use is do this or I'm out. Gun to the head approach. It's not a strategy for long term success. Not sure if Trac fits this profile but it sounds like he could.

I think Trac needs to decide whether he's part of the problem or part of the solution. Is he onboard or not. He needs to decide. And quick. As it is, he's burning through his goodwill with us fans and with the playing group and his continued silence just alienates him more. He's no future captain that's for sure. If he doesn't want to be part of the solution, then best he moves on. The club will survive. Very difficult to get a trade done that we think is fair compensation but sometimes you have to cut your losses. No player is bigger than our club.

I think the trauma that Trac has gone through with his injuries from that impact is more significant than many - particularly the media (Morris et al) - have overlooked. Goodwin touched on the trauma for not only Trac but his family.

Watching him come off at the break on Kings Birthday, not one teammate or official went to him until he crossed the line clutching his ribs in anguish. 

Trac would have gone through a heap of different emotions about himself, his partner, family, life and footy and his priorities and what’s important. 
 

Leaving him to his own devices in Noosa, taking a break there would have been a lot of thinking and pain through rehab. 
 

communication is always key in any areas or line of work, if lacking it can cause problems.
