Agree 100%

Other than a handful of posters like you, it is starting to feel like a lynch mob around here;:  no facts, no evidence just innuendo and speculation.  And forget about 'innocent till proven guilty'.

The issues seem to be that he hasn't:

  • refuted the rumour he wants out ipsofacto it must be true.  Perhaps he and the club have agreed it is best if he doesn't say anything.  Let's face it, if he did there is a fair chance it would be misconstrued to feed a narrative.
  • shown leadership.  Maybe wanting to change the club for the better he is showing leadership.
  • shown loyalty to the club because the rumour became public.   Maybe he isn't responsible for the leak.
  • gone to the GC.  As you suggest his immune system may not be up to it.  He may have had a health relapse recently.  He may not want to be confronted by media putting a microphone in his face at the airport, the ground thus looking after his emotional health etc.
  • put out or react to social media about the win yesterday.  Maybe he sent a msg to the team on an intra club chat group and liked those posted by teammates/the club on that private network.

It is true I'm making assumptions.  Assumptions that are equally if not more plausible than the behaviours people are condemning him for.

The important thing is he and Pert are talking so it isn't that he has no contact with the club/teammates.  imv that is all we need to know at this stage.

Thats all way too sensible for me. You may well be spot and I hope you are but for mine it feels the other way. The next few weeks will give us the answer.

How so?

Takes the oxygen out of it. Media will move on soon enough. Deal with it in-house. Trac will talk publicly at some point.

Maysie’s partner is due to give birth any day now, she’s already overdue. He’s hardly gonna travel interstate thereby risking missing the birth all for nothing since he can’t play anyways.

Stop talking common sense.  Dangerous on this site.

I hope this is the case. As long as him and the club are on the same page. I really feel the club is left doing all of the work on the damage control at the minute, but maybe that’s the agreed plan.

As with most things, the starting point should focus on the "WHY"!

In trades it could be greater opportunities, go home factor, money, family, success, health, career extension, desire to get out, etc.

Then the decision makers focus on addressing the why; in this case if its

* success, MFC is as likely as any for next year (we are a dodgy decision or unlucky bounce of the ball from playing finals this year despite injuries and drama) - so sell him that and the improvements we are implementing to achieve this

* Money, tbat would require significant Brown paper bag and property portfolios; to make a difference to support

* desire to get out - fix the problem in the club, or if none (minor); then accommodate his reasoning "to get out" which will likely land him at clubs like the Eagles or Roo's. Note in this case we've addressed the "why", which doesn't necessary equate to the "want" (Collingwood).

Good culture is built on how you handle "Why" versus catering for "wants"

Note: O'Keefee was desperate to be traded to Hawthorn (I think) but the Swans refused and then he was instrumental in helping win a premiership.

I completely sympathise with Trac's situation. I respect how he must be feeling and how he'd question some of the club's processes etc. But I don't like that he's been talking to the press, or has let someone leak. I felt the same when I heard about Harrison Petty organising the press stop when he was playing golf with Adelaide players.

It's a business afterall. If I owned a high profile business I would not like it if my employee's were leaking information or grievances to the press.

The unusual group photo of all the  listed players and quite passionate singing of the club song after a clinical win in hot conditions is a great sign of unity and a very long fat middle finger to Trac.

Then put a post up celebrating the win. He’s chasing a trade, little doubt in my mind now. I believe teams are  professional enough to mend bridges and that’s what may well happen and he’ll stay.

I’m also of the mind that if he does go we need change at the top. This should never have got to this point. (This may just be my disappointment with the situation bubbling over)

Petracca is one of the most professional and elite playrs in the competition. Do you think Clarry has demonstrated the same in the last 12 months?

The idea if trading him for the sake of picks is mind blowing.

I thought the group photo was a souvenir for Nibbler to take home.

Why not take it next week at the G?

I assume he is playing.

Not sure Jaded, we won and the whole squad was up there minus a couple. Seemed like a good opportunity, agree with the unity part, don’t think it was taken as flipping the bird at Trac. If that’s the case he’s as good as gone.

Absolutely it’s mind blowing but that’s how the situation looks to me. I think I was wrong once before about 17 years ago so I may well be again, we can only hope.

Hope he’s in the rooms pre and post game.
I don’t care where he sits during the match, as I understand that there are heart rate constrains that may prevent him from being on the bench or in the box.

i for one would be against trading him i doubt there is any way we are going to get a good enough reward from whatever picks we get. unfortunately not everyone is happy with all of the conditions of their working environment, i hope we can address what ever issues there are. because if there are issues impacting him, how many other players may be impacted. we would all love to see melbourne as a destination club this Trac issue is likely to impact us being able to attract other players.

What are you talking about? He was at the game last week at the MCG. He’s been in Noosa for weeks prior to that.

It’s well reported now that senior players were unhappy with him being in Noosa instead of being involved at the club. This week, the club flew everyone up. May didn’t go because of his rib injury, but once again, Petracca has let this group down again by not getting involved. As far as I can tell, and what I’ve been told, for Christian it’s all “me me me” at the moment.

I’m talking about the fact he is recovering from a life threatening injury. Has just started walking a week or two ago and can’t get his heart rate above 110bpm which is not high at all.

I have no problem with him not flying up. Or do I have a problem with him having a holiday in warm weather to recover. He puts his body on the line and is our star player.

you think they took a picture to stick it to Trac?

I think this site needs a media ban. It’s getting to everyone.

Trac isn’t happy with the clubs direction. Who is? I’d expect our star player to be angry and want to fix it

Lol if this is the club's attitude then our culture is worse than anyone could imagine.

Going to war with a premiership hero because he feels let down smh.

In the Pies coaching box…..sorry, couldn’t help myself.

Because it would look ridiculous if we lost.

Imagine the reaction from cornes et al if we all lined up for a premiership photo after a loss to the pies.

Yep you’re probably right

I refuse to acknowledge losing to the Pies. That’s on me 😂

Anyway this was not a middle finger to Trac. It was a middle finger to the media!
The whole game and post game had a vibe of “you think we are not united and we are falling apart, well watch this”.

Actions always speak loud than words, and our actions yesterday were a perfect response to all the garbage that’s been directed towards our club.
