Good.  I was watching on TV with the sound at my preferred volume level (i.e. on mute) and thought they were replaying the incident multiple times to criticise the umpires for missing an obvious illegal disposal.  Ony later did I learn why.  More fool me.

so did I

Forward: JVR, Jeffo/Melk 11 games each, trade for a good forward or forward/ruck,  Tracc 80% forward post centre bounce.

Back: May, Petty, Lever. Disco depth. A good mature back up (Edwards from West Coast?)

Trade Fritsch - his zero forward pressure impairs our ability to play a second ruck or a young key tall like Jeffo. It also doesn’t let us play those talls (or anyone else like Tracc and Kossie) as the deepest forward.

Let T Mc walk to a rebuilding side or be depth elsewhere.

In terms of who we bring in it has to either be Waterman or a mobile ruck/forward who can stay out of the way whilst forward and contributing in the ruck.

If the trade plans fail that’s when you keep Tommy and swing Disco or Petty forward.

I'm sorry, you and I have agreed on Fritta's lack of forward pressure in the past, but there's no way we will or should get rid of Fritta. It's a ridiculous suggestion really. He will kick at least 40+ again.

I don't see Turner as a depth player, but maybe the FD agree wirh you as he keeps being named sub.

Also, you're down on Fritta's forward half pressure, but want Melksham to play?

I'm not against Melksham playing next year, but ultimately, I think we need three talls or at least three that can play tall. IMO, it's JVR, Turner with Jefferson, Melksham and McAdam sharing that other spot.

It'd be great getting a KPF like Waterman, but I'd much prefer to strengthen the midfield and back in the KPPs we have.

Confirmed that May has fractured ribs. Best to put him on ice and play Petty down back for the remainder of the season.

May out, I vote Petty to take his place. Get a three-game head start on what should happen in pre-season, which is that Petty returns to defence.

Could be the first time in history that we see a crowd number in the negative.

Is that what happens when staff outnumber patrons

When the players outnumber the crowd.

I remember going to a game against Port at the 'G and I reckon we had 9k there. We were bloody loud though.

Even that 16k last week sounded loud at times.

Petty, lever and Turner in defence.

Theyll play together for the next 5 years.

Tmac fwd if he goes again

Maybe  Port will have exhausted themselves tonight    112 points over top of the ladder Swans 😦😮🙄

I’d play Turner forward but either way I think he’s going to be a good one.

Turner is a forward. I am a fan though of how we like to mix it up and keep it fresh and exciting by putting players out of position.

Well this one will beat that.

“Port should be an easy win for us, as they couldn’t even beat the Swans by 120 points, playing at home.”

Well, just saw Port vs Sydney. I'm scared.

C'mon ... what could possibly go wrong?

I had to close the gate behind me last week, bit of a pain.

Yep, I resemble that comment! If the Dogs beat the Bloods by 39, then us by 51 the next week, and the Power from Port beat the Swans by 112 and then play us …

It's going to be an incredible podcast if we beat port.

I was scared pre game against the doggies.

On Saturday, I'm literally going to pretend that I forgot the footy was on and just miss out on watching.

Just want to see Jefferson and Laurie in for the remaining games. Not much else to get excited about for the remainder of this season.

Time for the draft board to be opened up?

We are battling when we are getting excited about Laurie. We’ve seen enough to suggest it really isn’t very exciting

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.
