They’re coming off a 5 day break, so if we don’t completely [censored] the bed in the third quarter we could over run them in the last. Could being the operative word here, as they could also kick straight for goal and win by 15 goals.

Hell might freeze over

We have been gifted with only being 3 goals down, I wonder if we’ll make anything of that…

I'll take B for $150

Jack Viney a massive five disposals.

Kozzie with two.

Petty ...it's ok we can trade him.

Too many passengers in this team.

Fritta well done.

Max ditto but they need help.

Oliver bog for us with only TEN touches.

Umps horrible won't reward any of our tackles that actually stick.

Oliver BOG for us?

TMAC and JVR are busting their guts.

Oliver's disposal has been worse than normal.

I'd look at Kozzie.

He is so inconsistent.

Ridiculous and superficial. How many of those 14 are fit and in form? Would be lucky if it was half of them. Gawn, Viney, Oliver, Petty, Bowey all well under where they were in that premiership.

And how many Perth Grand Finals players does Footscray have?

3 possessions- Chandler, Petty, Woey, Throlstrup  💩💩💩

Viney 5 possessions 🤮🤮

Kozzzy 2 possessions 🤮🤮

all need to lift ffs

Goody needs to roar right now

6 players with 3 or less disposals. Any chance Pickett and Chandler can do anything useful?

Our small half forwards need to show up in the second half.

Taj, Melksham and Chandler almost completely ineffective so far.

Footscray's profligacy in front of the sticks is keeping the Dees in it. They may well tire and the Dees can snatch a win!

There is no way that the Langdon tackle on English should be considered excessive force.

There are three players out there for us who are even getting their hands on the pill.

Oliver

Max

Langdon

We are being smashed by the dogs with fifty less possessions.

Sure Olivers tackling is woeful but he's at least getting his hands on it.

We have ten players with five or less disposals at half time.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
