We have less than zero rights to still be in this game.

Petty needs to go play on JUH if May is done. We have Disco to sub on as a forward.

May is in the rooms. Petty needs to go back.

English unlucky. [censored] off BT. The albino llama didn’t handball correctly and should’ve been penalized like Gawn was in 1st qtr. Peanut

Don't let the scoreboard fool you. We have a third of their scoring opportunities.

Btw what TF was Oliver doing with 20 seconds left in the half? Silly half kick toward our 50, we were lucky not to gift them another shot at goal before the siren.

Lucky to be 3 goals down

The silver lining of May's injury is that we can finally put Petty in the backline.

Howes and AMW have been a positive down back.

They’re coming off a 5 day break, so if we don’t completely [censored] the bed in the third quarter we could over run them in the last. Could being the operative word here, as they could also kick straight for goal and win by 15 goals.

Viney 5 possessions. Carrying something.

Add that to May and Gawn ... walking wounded, and we were already undermanned.

Should be ten goals down, but thankfully the Dogs are undoing the best efforts of the umps and ourselves to destroy the contest.

Don’t know why we keep playing injured players, particularly when we have suitable replacements.

luckily we're still well in this thanks to their inaccuracy

doggies will wilt in the second half. we just need to bring intensity, clarry and viney need to lift, take our chances and i'll think we'll win

We have been awful but where still in it thanks to their inaccuracy.
It would be hilarious and fantastic if we could win this.

Jack Viney a massive five disposals.

Kozzie with two.

Petty ...it's ok we can trade him.

Too many passengers in this team.

Fritta well done.

Max ditto but they need help.

Oliver bog for us with only TEN touches.

Umps horrible won't reward any of our tackles that actually stick.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
