Nothing beats a re-run of the malice in Alice.

Well I tell you who wasn't at fault today, the list management and coaching team! No sir, no way they could be of any blame.

Weren't we supposed to take every game like an elimination final?

We had been doing since the NM game, and suddenly we can't be bothered to try?

5 more "finals" to come, but I doubt the hunger is really there.

Well coached for the most part

A massive Sparrow game

Lever commanding in defence

The first half was an absolute embarrassment

The coaches and players should hang their heads in shame

Our older players can get stuffed. Sick of people defending Oliver too… wish I was paid $1m plus performing (or shall I say giving an effort) like that at work

Btw we lost 5% today, we lost like 8% in Alice.

13% lost against one single opponent, one of the reasons we are in this current situation.

On a positive note, we still have a higher percentage than Hawthorn. Winning!

Totally unacceptable performance

The youngsters and May get a pass. The rest were awful.

And how did that work for us today, Simon?  Fullerton left out and we got destroyed in the ruck. Why draft the bloke if you aren’t going to play him?

I don’t like it one little bit, but I can accept being out-played.
However, what I find completely unacceptable, is being totally out-worked.
I’m gutted!

Typo

I’m sorry to those that rate him but Sparrow is just a nothing player

We pretty much knew that Jacko and Biff were going to dominate in the air but our lack of intensity and spread from the contest was really disappointing. Leb and Knuckle were good I thought. The commentary team were gushing about Freo for much of the game but when it really matters they are as flakey as any side.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
