NON-MFC: Round 17

Demonland

Recommended Posts

Results to favour the Dees:

Essendon to beat Collingwood

North to beat GC

Dogs to beat Port

Hawthorn to beat Geelong

Carlton to beat GWS

Richmond to beat Freo

Adelaide to beat Brisbane

Wrap that into a multi and it's paying $2,149 - $1

Didn't include St Kilda and Sydney as that game has absolutely no affect on us.

I reckon the bombers will continue to drop like last year and miss the 8. So I guess its best for us that the Pies win?

I feel ill      🤮

This is the only time I go for Collingwood. I hate them slightly less than I hate Essendon.

But who would I really like to see as the big winners tonight? That’d be injuries. Injuries… and lots of ‘em. Not life-ending injuries, not necessarily career-ending (bar that slimy thug), just 120 minutes of watching both sides dropping like flies. Mainly Essendon players since we play them next week. Oh, and suspensions: a week, six weeks, doesn’t matter as long as it’s a big-name Essendon player.

Please and thanks in advance, Footy gods!

With Moore and Maynard playing, it's almost a certainty that someone from Essendon will get injured

*One week at a time BBP*

But there's a stupid scenario that has us jumping up a whopping one spot to 11th even if we're good enough to beat West Coast and Essendon, and the following also happens:

Essendon beat Collingwood but lose to us (1-1)

Collingwood lose to Essendon and then beat Geelong (1-1)

GC beat North and Port at home (2-0)

Port beat Dogs and lose to GC (1-1)

GWS beat Carlton and Richmond (2-0)

Therefore I hope Collingwood, North, and Carlton all win.

Not the end of the world if Port beat Dogs because their percentage is poor and they could very well lose to GC away next week.

Maybe they could get another draw tonight.  That would be OK.

As much as I hate to say it I think I want the pies to win, only because some bummers fans are getting a bit nervous & they've seen this falling down the ladder thing happen before & it's always hilarious.

If nth beat gc dimma will go nuts

I think the planets align between you and I, WCW. It is simple - hate the Pies slightly less (only slightly) than the horrid Bummers. Not sure I can agree about injuries, but I hope the Bummers are very sore after a physical game.

Strangely, I love watching both the Daicos boys play. But with the constant self-flagellant drooling from the channel 7 commentary team, and all the non football cross promotions about them including their over exposed father, and their new deluxe spa for w-anchors, I am going to watch tonight with a vomit bucket near to hand.

100%. Essendon look really shaky. We’re primed to take their spot.

You know, I was never like this in the past. I would never wish injury on anyone, even Essendon players. But everything changed with the Gussy travesty. I’m not comfortable wanting opposition players to sustain injuries but this is how it is now. Thanks again, you filthy piece of sch!tt Maynard.

I agree QD, but I’m a little concerned about BBP talking to himself. First sign of madness, they say. 🤭

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
