People working behind the Scenes and our Football Department have let us all down in a huge way.
you do not come back from this, the damage (whatever it is) has been done.

We have been deceived.

Look at Grundy last night.
To not play him last year was sheer arrogance and stupidity

This Club is like a Ferrari that hasn’t had a Service in 3 years.
We need new people running the place. Top to Bottom

The List can be salvaged but only with tough calls

Why do we worry about suggesting change? We all know that nothing will happen, Goodwin will end up getting an extension out of  this

Which one is it?

FWIW, it's not the former.

This is not a "Ferrari" list.

We've been extracting consistent and largely excellent football from the bones of this list for four years. But with the drop off from Viney, Oliver and May, the absence of Lever and the need to throw Petracca forward more than we'd like, the list around them isn't good enough to keep us in contention. Compare that with Collingwood who today covered for De Goey, Mitchell, Pendlebury, Elliott, Cox and Mihocek with players like Kreuger, Noble, Harrison, Macrae, Sullivan and Dean.

100% agree with your opening comment, but fear it's become a boys club.

Tim Lamb has to be the first out the door. Horrible record of trading for players past their prime. Goodwin won't get sacked, and neither should he, but some of his buddies have to go. That's you Greg Stafford. And question marks on our midfield coach McQualter.

Has Stafford been our fwd coach for the past 3 years?

What a joke.

Our players are clueless on how to play. There is no system just bomb it to Max. No matter that we have 2 or three free players they continually bomb the ball to Max.

As good a player as he is he is almost a liability for us now because we are so easy to coach against.

I definitely think there would be some benefit in shaking up the off field and the game plan, it seems we need to re-load if we are going to be a serious contender again anytime soon

A big change is needed on and on off the field. I am not going to watch games live this year. Too hard from Ballarat and we are so boring to watch. Just feel so let down.. our administration is the issue

Would like to see Dean Cox considered to replace Goodwin - has done a couple of years learning from Longmire and the Swans system which the best in the business. Change is definitely needed.

@Sir Why You Little The Ferrari metaphor couldn't be any more accurate.

I hope the club takes this opportunity to clean back of house, because we've absolutely been asleep at the wheel since round 10 2022.

Maybe he could be a player coach and help give Max a chop out 🤪

The list management has been atrocious, and now it has broken down

Goody deserves to stay.

We would have won another flag last year except for injuries and Maynard. Ok the Laurie sub was a stupid selection but it happens.

We need to sack our forward coach.

Make some much better recruitment calls and start dropping players who don't perform.

If they don't put in, they don't play...simple.

To be fair, Collingwood's system enables them to be a bit plug and play, but they were lucky our goalkicking was so abhorrent today.

I agree, but Goodwin won't go while he's protected by Roffey et al. The fish rots at the head and there are issues from the boardroom down, all the way down to the playing group.

Arguably there's been issues since at least 2021, but the Premiership plastered over a lot of cracks.

Meanwhile Grundy was BOG last night in the Top Side, but he wasn’t up to “our” standards

It is heartbreaking to see what has been done to this Club since ‘21

We haven't seen eye to eye over the years mate but we couldn't possibly be in a more furious state of agreement right now

Absolutely agree, i have worked in Departments that have gone sour. The only remedy is to find new blood

Let’s not get too excited about that game. Geelong have the worst rucks by far in the league and opposition rucks dominate them every game. Not playing Grundy in the finals was a huge mistake but moving him (and his contract) on was the right thing to do. Gawn is not a forward and neither is Grundy. They were no good together.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
