This time last season the majority call was for him to be desisted.

Now he's a saviour ,like Petty!!

Melksham did actually show a solid 10 or so week block of good form last year that gives us some reason for confidence in his ability when fit. Whether his body is up to it or not remains to be seen though.

At the very least Melksham is a professional forward and natural goal kicker, which is exactly what Petty and Turner are not.

He will add something to our forward line if his body holds up.

My guess is that he'll return for round 18 V Essendon (13 July), after 2 VFL hit outs.

The longer Melks is out the better he is, it seems. Starting to remind me of the whining when we believed Junior had lost too much pace and let him go. It was the right decision in hindsight, but the moaning was significant.

I hope Melks can come back for a couple of games but if he can replicate any earlier highlights, I will be happy to be wrong.

Reckon training might be at Slithera Park Thursday and if so I might be a chance to rock up!

When I was last at training, six weeks ago, he was moving and kicking sweetly. Looked ready to go then so hopefully he is only a few weeks away now.

Given Melksham’s reported professionalism with his preparation of his body, I’d be unsurprised if he was elevated straight into the seniors, perhaps as a sub.

Yeah I have never doubted his value.I was referring to the regular  calls for his delisting until the same folk suddenly decided he was valuable.

Petty seems to be getting a version  (reversed) of the same nonsense

Play Melk up forward and Petty down back  and stfu is my theory.

TMac stays back until its over.

Very excited by the prospect of Milkshake returning soon. Done an incredible job to get back ahead of schedule, can see the steely determinationin in his eyes. Could do with the extra determination and tenacity on the field right now.

Fingers crossed

Yes, that happened over a few seasons, posters kept saying he only got a game because he either had photos of Goody or that was a mate of Goody.

Those same posters were made to look a bit silly up until he was injured.

I'd be incredibly surprised it that was the case and it would be plain stupid by the club.

Anyone that has missed a year with a knee injury would know you need definitely full match practice under your belt before you're at maximum level.

Melksham will need a number of weeks at Casey for not only match conditioning but also to get form.

Some are forgetting that he's nearly 33 and at the wrong end of his career coming of a 12 month injury. Highly unlikely we'll see his best again especially with the way our forward line is functioning which has been sub par.

We are now relying on a 33 yo, semi regular player, coming back from a long term acl injury. We see more desperate than I thought

No, apparently they've all be sent to the shops to buy some f@#ks. Because a few players clearly had none to give on Sunday.

Ned Kelly look a like

He could kick a torp a country mile.

Blight ,Baker and Keane were huge kickers.

AFL players can barely kick 40m+.

Baker was probably only on about 15-20k per season.

Pretty sure at the time of his injury he was more than a semi regular player, much more.

Training NOT at Casey today🤔

Could somebody please let Picket Fence know that they’re training at Casey tomorrow morning at 9:30am. I’d tell him myself except he’s now got me on ignore. 😁

Ok, thanks WCW. The reason I ask is he copped a shot in the back on Sunday whilst on the ground. Looked at the time like he tweaked his shoulder slightly. Hoping he's all good.

No free for in the back though.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
