Fat Tony 5,337 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 Cumming would be better than Houston given he is a free agent. 6 Quote

It's understood Adelaide, Port Adelaide, Fremantle and Melbourne are all keen on Cumming, who is one of the hottest unrestricted free agents still available on the market. At 25 fills a gap in our list. 3 Quote
Ted Lasso 19,586 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 I think he helps us to replace what we lose at half back with Rivers going into the midfield. seems a very sensible target for us. 8 Quote
dazzledavey36 56,336 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 Yeah a great target from a needs point of view. Outside player who's got sharp kicking skills. Would be best 22 straight away. 6 Quote
whatwhat say what 23,859 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 yep unrestricted free agent, would seem to suit our requirements in terms of positional gaps another successful academy selection for gw$, of course... 1 Quote
spirit of norm smith 16,679 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 It’s a YES from me. Excellent skills and has pace and run. Would add to our team and allow Riv to move more into the midfielder role. 2 Quote
layzie 34,528 Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Best I've ever seen. Not really but still, sign him. 1 Quote

Garbo 1,567 Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 (edited) So who would Cumming or Huston push out of the team both are mid size defenders or would they play another roll. I wouldn’t have thought this is an area of the ground we are lacking talent in. I know you can only get what’s available but I feel like we still need to be focusing on the talls in key backs, forwards and ruck, May Tmac and Gawn all over 30 with no obvious replacements coming up and only 1 proven key fwd playing at AFL level in JVR Edited July 19, 2024 by Garbo Quote

Neither Bowey nor Salem provide the speed, dare or penetrating kicking of Rivers. May and McDonald are likely to slow down even more next year, so surrounding them with some pace may prove to be important. Completely agree that we need to go after key backs but unfortunately that may need to be through the draft. There's not a lot of high-end KPD talent though. Quote

Probably not next year but in 2-3 years. And Bowey's current role. I really think we should look at Bowey as a mid. Edited July 19, 2024 by Binmans PA Quote

Third soft tissue injury this year. 2 hours ago, whatwhat say what said: excellent, let's get him cheaper and 'fix' him As a RSA not sure we would get him too cheap. Would you pay him more than Rivers or McVee? We would probably have to pay him more to get him to sign. If he continues to have soft tissue issues then it could be problematic. Quote
spirit of norm smith 16,679 Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 I am super keen on signing Cumming as a free agent. Definitely put a 5 year deal on the table. He is cheaper and less draft picks than Houston, with similar roles. 2 Quote
