Port looking ordinary against a depleted Richmond.

Hopefully they have an ordinary win rather than a shock loss as we don’t want them on the rebound and having a statement game against us.

Volleyed goal. don't see that too often

and the ump asks for a review even though the ball was a about a meter inside the post

Not sure about Fremantle's depth.

Yesterday was only North but they were missing Chapman, Cox, Darcy, O'Driscoll and O'Meara, plus OMac and Worner who played last week, plus a few others (e.g. Corey Wagner and Ethan Stanley).

Perhaps against a better side they wouldn't have won but they're 2-0 with quite a lot of talent to come back.

And I wholly disagree that they "need" key defenders. Their best 22 defence is top 4 quality.

We'll have to agree to disagree, but the back six that played the Roos is, IMHO, not a top 4 defensive unit (i think I'm right in saying that Omac is the only best 22 defender missing, unless you include Corey Wagner).

  • James Aish
  • Alex Pearce
  • Jordan Clark
  • Ethan Hughes
  • Joshua Draper
  • Luke Ryan

Alex Pearce is a  pretty good player, but not AA quality. And he's their best defender.

Watching the Tigers vs Port, the Richmond crowd were a bit much when the Tiges were on top, but I'm remembering now how much fun it was to watch nuffy-cam when they were better known as ninthmond.

Anyone know the status of Marshall's injury?

Not wishing injuries on opposition players but Marshall out would be handy considering our 2 outs this week.

Chapman and Cox are defenders, Cox was in the AA squad in 2022.

They are both better than Pearce, as is Luke Ryan. At full strength they are a strong defence and one which I think most people don’t appreciate.

And hopefully Horne Francis hamstring is at least a 2 gamer.

PS: Butters should be fined for staging. Just on half time milked a 50 and goal, pretending Lynch hit him in the head after a mark. Nothing said because he is a star, but not the first time.

It's going to be a long year for Ooze.

Tiges pressure rating in the negative.

How many years did he get? They will win games but agree think it’s going to be a long year for him.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
