I would not be surprised if Fullarton came in for lately withdrawed Spargo.

I would be.

In fact surprised is way too mild a description of what my reaction would if Fullarton plays in this match.

More likely would be TMac to free up Lever/May against their 3 tall forwards. Even that's a stretch. Pun intended.

What is the rule for substituting an emergency for a selected or interchange player prior to the game?

Given our off season, this will be a defining game. Get em Dees, give them nothing. I want to see scorn on their faces, no laughter or pats on back until the end, or unless a bit of magic happens. Angry and ruthless, us against them. Run out the quarters, get those late goals and go into the break on a high, and definitely to not concede in the time-ons. Pressure, contest and causing turnovers is the modern game and our DNA, plus holding it in our forward area and playing roles. The Carlton community game showed that our zone is still working unless the opps 'take it on'. Be interesting to see if we use fast and powerful plays down corridors, and some blitzing to create a string of goals.

Feeling confident.

Go Dees

Agree,  start the season like we did against the blues, stun the lot of them.  Give them nothing for the whole game and the whole season.  We have the back line we have the mids, I think (hope) Windsor has a blinder,

I have no idea who will kick our goals, hopefully 6 or 7 kick multiple.

GO DEES

I have enjoyed all the posts thus far, feeling pretty relaxed at the moment and looking forward to seeing a Dee Victory up in Sydney Town. Comeon the mighty Dees.!!!

Found a bar in NusaDua that does AFL my wife gets a massage and I get to yell and bellow in a bar. Hope there are other supporters. Bintang grosse each quarter.
Happy with any win but I would rather we dominated the burgers , go Dee’s

and I want Max to lead from the front.

remember we used to be afterthought in this comp and again we are now opening the season in a blockbuster

All eyes on us tonight. give ‘em hell!

jaysus, i’d need a Gavascon chaser after that brekky!

maybe a defibrillator too!

I can’t even look at that brekkie pic now. I actually had a Berocca chaser, then another coffee at the airport. Had to hold the spew-bag for the entire flight, much to the concern of the poor soul sitting next to me. The attendants asked folks to let me off the plane first. I thought they were just being nice but they clearly didn’t embrace the thought of cleaning up some eejit’s vomit. The fumes on the tarmac exacerbated the situation. I barely made it to the ladies room, where there was a queue so I had to choose: floor or sink. Poor old sink got the gig.

For future game-days I shall never again stray from my usual game-day fare of three ️s and four 🚬s and one Red Bull. 👍🏽

As much as i want to see another flag and remain relevant in the competition, i equally now want us to find a permanent home for the next 30+ years, so all we then need to focus on is football.

Demons by 12 goals.

The model is based upon all the games played so far this year for premiership points!

today is dragging like a worm ridden dogs butt on the carpet.

storyline’s I don’t want to see:

grundy goes forward and kicks 4

JJ shines for bog.

the one I do want to see:

demons by 25, in a canter.

Going to be very interested to see how Schache goes. He’s got a good opportunity here to make him difficult to drop if he can make himself a target a get a couple of goals. I’d like to see him play with enough presence where a defender has to be thinking ‘where is Schache’ and not just be able to run off him at will to other contests.

Totes agree! We need him to be a threat.

101.00 @ TAB

If my multi with Dees flag gets up then our sponsors will be very happy.

There will be a Jag in the garage and a Grange on the dinner table.  🏅🏆🚘🍷

So who’s sub tonight out of Billings, Windsor Chandler or Laurie? Clearly Bowey will start.

A bit of noise over at Bigfooty that it’s Billings.

I'd go with Chandler personally, but could also see Laurie. No chance on Billings surely!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
