I suppose Maynard knocking Cox out in friendly fire and the Pies losing by a point next week would be karma

If the Lions have any brains - Any - they will come out and look to take pies’ heads off at the first bounce. Seriously, make them fearful of their own lives. Zorko should remove from the torsos the heads of Maynard Cox and then move to favourite sons Daicii, Pendlebury , Elliot , moore

Did the AFL change the rules during the week???

High tackles, Throws, Trips all OK

Nah, if you've got a Collingwood or Carlton jumper those things and more are all endorsed.  You know knock a bloke out why don't ya - it's all good.

Yeah, it sucks, but don’t give me umpiring. There were a handful of blatant Collingwood frees that weren’t paid late (the Moore high and the HTB on Idun were horrendous misses).

If GWS got shafted it was by having to have a 6 day break into this game. There’s no need to ensure the top side gets 8 days into the GF. 7 is enough. But the drop from 7 to 6 is more severe and GWS shouldn’t have had to deal with that.

But in the end, Collingwood have been the best side for the majority of the year, so it’s no real surprise or shame that they’re in the GF.

I don’t understand why the club president can’t say “Nup, we’re not having that, we’ll sue you”

it’s like us having to to go kardinia year after year after year

This would have been the Memo from (Gill) AFL to the umpires, "If Collingwood are losing pay everything, if Collingwood are in the lead pay nothing"

Played out perfectly didn't it?

Well this finals series keeps on giving. If Carlton win tomorrow , what a week from hell we will have.

Yes, but imagine the conundrum the umps will have!

Did that with our games too, switch it off with 2 seconds to go.

Yep walked out of the lounge with 5 seconds to go so I didn't have to see or hear the reaction.

Ok over to you Brisbane.

I just feel sorry for all the Demonlanders tonight the last few weeks have been hard and last week was devastating. We needed a lift and a Giants win would have been it. Instead we've been handed more crud sandwiches to chow down.

Think again.... they may make it IF the umps don't kill them in the process but they have a woeful record at the G

Yeah, but they hardly play at the G.  Should have really beat us here home and away and beat us convincingly in a final last year.

I think that poor record counts for diddly squat.  They are playing so much better footy than Collingwood.

Bloke!

I remember the 2021 lead in, seeing all the amazing artwork for the Dees and feeling left out and a bit sad , living as I do up in the northern rivers. But this week, thank Christ I am not in Collingbourne. Intolerable.

I would kill to be there right now. Or anywhere else.

The dog sat down on the bed and accidentally pressed the remote with his hefty bottom with 5 seconds left in the game. He is a therapy dog I tell you.

At least we got to see Jesse Hogan kick a massive goal under pressure and play a great game on the big stage. Like a proud ex-step father

The disappointing 2023 season just got that little bit more disappointing.

I can think of another word than disappointing, especially if Carlton wins tomorrow.

Do the right thing Brisbane.

Smash the brown paper baggers followed by the filth on the G.

It’s a little tenuous but I guess there’s an MFC connection through Fagan.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
